Power Progression

World Context

• Pokémon coexist with humans in a world whose countries, history, families, and schools otherwise closely resemble Qiao Ran's original world. Pokémon can be found on streets, in the sky, and in ordinary public life. 1
• Pokémon have only existed in this world for a few hundred years. As a result, many creatures known to Qiao Ran as Legendary or Mythical Pokémon are locally treated as undiscovered species rather than figures of legend. 13 14
• Pokémon are integrated into education, League facilities, broadcasting, travel, Gym challenges, performance competitions, and professional investigation work. 1 2 15 28
• Pokémon reproduction is taught as part of Pokémon Biology, though researchers remain uncertain about several phenomena, including apparent reproductive isolation and eggs larger than the parent Pokémon. 1

Human–Pokémon Bonds

• Pokémon are commonly kept in Poké Balls, trained for battle, and partnered with human Trainers. Adventurers may challenge Gyms, earn badges, and eventually enter the Celestial Pokémon League. 2
• Qiao Ran's Pokémon gain levels by winning battles; stronger opponents provide more experience. 5
• Pokémon with particularly rich emotions and “spirit” can battle with considerable independence rather than relying entirely on commands. Suicune and Dianxi demonstrate this during the poacher ambush. 13
• Pokémon may live alongside their Trainers rather than remain inside Poké Balls. Qiao Ran's team regularly shares his tent, camps outdoors, and resides in Pokémon Pioneer Land. 7 11
• Poachers target rare Pokémon, fossils, and ruins connected to Pokémon history, making powerful or unusual Pokémon especially vulnerable to exploitation. 12 14

Abilities & Skills

Anthropomorphism

Qiao Ran's Pokémon breeding system can grant certain Pokémon humanoid forms once their intimacy with him reaches 80 or higher. The transformation is linked to the system's concept of “harmony” and is intended to deepen mutual understanding between Trainer and Pokémon. 1 2 23

• Qiao Ran can mentally command an anthropomorphized Pokémon to return to its beast form, while Pokémon can eventually learn to control the change themselves. 2
• Humanoid form can further raise intimacy, enhancing bond-dependent techniques such as Z-Moves and Mega Evolution. 2
• Human language is not automatically acquired. Vulpix initially cannot speak properly and must be taught language and etiquette before becoming conversant. 6 11
• Dianxi gains speech and a human form after her performance-stage transformation, but temporarily regresses to a younger form after expending Mega power. 18
• Suicune later humanizes after reacting to Qiao Ran's Tokiwa Power. 49 50

Mega Evolution

Mega Evolution is a temporary transformation achieved when a Trainer and Pokémon share a powerful bond and connect through an Evolution Stone. 17

• Dianxi is capable of Mega Evolution and possesses exceptionally high potential; Qiao Ran describes Mega Dianxi's base stats as 700. 4
• Qiao Ran wears Dianxi's Evolution Stone around his neck, enabling their first documented Mega Evolution during the Zhenhui Town performance competition. 17
• Mega Dianxi is later used to defeat Iron Maiden's Mawile in the Jinling Gym challenge. 32

Telepathic Communication

Some Legendary Pokémon can communicate telepathically. Dianxi serves as the intermediary through which Qiao Ran contacts Dr. Lilia during a poacher attack. 35

• Qiao Ran's thoughts are normally transmitted directly to his Pokémon, reducing the need for spoken commands. 35
• His unusually close coordination with Suicune leads Iron Maiden to suspect that he possesses psychic abilities. 30 31

Pokémon Pioneer Land

Pokémon Pioneer Land is Qiao Ran's personal training world, accessed through the Shiny Rotom Phone and used as a home for his Pokémon. 2

• Capturing system-designated Pokémon in the outside world earns Pioneer Points after those Pokémon are brought into Pioneer Land. Every 100 points unlocks one of Qiao Ran's former companions at random. 2
• Completing the first task by bringing in 100 Grass- and Bug-type Pokémon transforms the previously barren land into a forest that becomes their habitat. 11
• Suicune's arrival creates a great river and introduces a more natural, water-rich environment to the land. 11
• The land has a private area reserved for Qiao Ran and his personal Pokémon; wild Pokémon cannot enter it. 18

Story Role / Major Arcs

• Pokémon establish the story's altered setting: Qiao Ran discovers that his familiar human world now contains Pokémon and resolves to become a Pokémon Master. 1 2
• Qiao Ran's starter Vulpix, followed by Dianxi, proves that small or outwardly cute Pokémon can defeat much larger opponents through type advantage, teamwork, and strategy. 3 4 10
• Pokémon Pioneer Land turns Pokémon capture into both a progression system and an ecological project, allowing Qiao Ran to restore former companions and build habitats for newly captured species. 2 11
• Qiao Ran's Pokémon repeatedly defend him against poachers, assist League operations, and reveal that rare or unknown Pokémon can attract dangerous attention. 13 36 37
• The Anomaly 037 expedition reveals damaged Pokémon-world regions, Ultra Beasts, and Pokémon such as Suicune and Dianxi that are recognized as legendary by outsiders from the Pokémon world. 38 39 41
