As the twisted, grotesque Sanskrit chants echoed through the Buddha hall, its dazzling radiance sank once more into silent darkness. The Buddhist light was veiled, the light of wisdom worn away, and even Bodhisattva Mingji's incandescent halo was obscured. The entire hall became a realm of pitch-black silence. Within that silent realm, only the Sanskrit chants echoed in every direction, deranging minds and troubling souls, making people bleed from all seven orifices without realizing it, until they became lamps of flesh and blood, human candles of fat and wax.

Once the Buddha hall had become a place of darkness, the statues grew smug again.

"Heh heh..."

"Hehehehe..." Amid faint rustling, all manner of strange, absurd laughter came from every direction. In the darkness, hideous Buddha statues extended sharp claws and bared their fangs, lunging at Bodhisattva Mingji.
