Cultivation Requirements

Pure Yang is attained after completing the Upper Three Realms: overcoming the Three Disasters at Void Refinement, enduring the Five Difficulties at Body Integration, and, at Mahayana, attracting the Heavenly Soul and Earthly Soul. A cultivator whose Essence, Qi, and Spirit are complete may then achieve the Pure Yang Dao Fruit. 358 409

In the Mountain and Sea Realm, the same achievement is called the Supreme Unity Golden Immortal. Its core process is described as gathering the True Spirit, True Nature, and True Destiny; guiding the Yin and turbid Earth Soul; connecting the clear and Yang Heavenly Soul; and reversing Yin to Yang. 687 690 705

Realms

Pure Yang cultivation is divided according to comprehension and control of the Great Dao rather than age or accumulated magic power. 358 409

Characteristics

• Pure Yang beings are described as leaping beyond the Three Realms and not being within the Five Elements. 358
• They possess immeasurable lifespans, can traverse the Chaos Void, and are not ordinarily destroyed by the collapse of a world. 358 634
• Their power derives from leveraging the Great Dao and controlling laws; at sufficient strength, they can re-refine Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire or annihilate living beings with a gesture. 452
• At the realm, myriad laws may follow a cultivator’s will; practical application matters more than ornate techniques. 410
• A Pure Yang’s aura alone can suppress cultivators below its realm, including Mahayana beings. 721 1096
• Pure Yang cultivators bear manifestations associated with their attainment, including a Dao Fruit, Merit Golden Wheel, and Destiny Purple Wheel. 634 1097

Limitations

• Pure Yang is not absolute immortality. Pure Yang cultivators can die when entangled in prolonged spell duels over Daoist lineages or the Great Dao. 358
• Dao Lord Yang Ji’s fall on the River of Time caused blood rain across the Myriad Worlds and made the Great Dao grieve, demonstrating that even Dao Holding Pure Yangs may be slain. 721
• The Three Realms’ merger strengthened Heaven-and-Earth restrictions. Entering the Dao Pure Yangs found their connection to the Great Dao clearer but more difficult to mobilize, while Dao Holding cultivators retained greater freedom. 452 453
• Advancement depends on comprehension of the Great Dao’s ultimate principles; some Pure Yangs remain stagnant for tens of thousands of years. 358
• Pure Yang Dao Seeds may assist a cultivator’s ascent, but excessive reliance can contaminate their future cultivation and jeopardize their identity at breakthrough. 1093

Pure Yang Supreme Treasures

Pure Yang Supreme Treasures protect a Pure Yang cultivator’s Dao and serve as weapons of killing. 357

• Heavenly Radiance True Yang Ruler — Yue Heng Dao Lord’s treasure. After Yue Heng attained Pure Yang, the ruler ascended into a Pure Yang Supreme Treasure; a single strike can collapse ordinary worlds and effortlessly shatter landmasses in great worlds. 357
• Three Profound Jade Ruyi — Miao Yan Dao Lord’s Supreme Treasure; combined with the Heavenly Radiance True Yang Ruler, it shattered the Golden Palace Heavenly Emperor’s Sword of Heavenly Dao. 409 410
• Star River Exquisite Umbrella — Dao Lord Yang Ji’s Pure Yang Supreme Treasure, inlaid with Three Yangs, Seven Moons, and Three Thousand Stars. 721
• Brilliant Sun World Burning Mirror and World-Suppressing Golden Seal — Dao Lord Feiyang’s paired treasures. As a Dao Holding cultivator, he can fuse them to release vastly greater power. 1112

Pure Yang Qi

Pure Yang Qi is born when a cultivator who has gathered the Three Flowers at the Crown and Five Qi at the Origin combines the Heavenly and Earthly Souls to enter Pure Yang. It contains the principles of myriad Divine Abilities and Great Daos. 759

• It is neither categorized as innate nor acquired, chaos nor primordial. 759
• It may repair severe injuries and damaged Three Flowers and Five Qi. 1047
• Its use carries a cost: recipients may lose the possibility of independently reaching Pure Yang. 1046

• Orthodox Daoist inheritances are commonly identified by cultivation methods that directly point toward the Pure Yang Heavenly Immortal Great Dao, though not every method leading to Pure Yang is orthodox. 553
