Allied Forces

The following noon

"Ugh... Seriously, I had work waiting for me the moment I got back." Feng Lan sat alone in the carriage, complaining weakly.

To explain the situation, they had to go back to that morning.

When Lisanna saw Feng Lan arrive, she skipped over to his side. "Feng Lan, hurry and read my diary from the past few days! Mira and Elfman both loved it~"

Feng Lan sat down beside her and took the diary. "Alright, then I'm going to read it!"

"Wait a moment." Just as Feng Lan was about to open the diary, a voice suddenly interrupted him. "Feng Lan, before that, there's something I need to tell you."

Feng Lan handed the diary back to Lisanna and turned around. "Old man? What is it?"

Makarov jumped onto a chair. "Feng Lan, do you know about Broken Wings of Blazing Heaven?"

Feng Lan rested his right cheek on his hand and thought for a moment. "Broken Wings of Blazing Heaven... I've heard of them. They're a Dark Guild that's been gaining a lot of fame lately. They're powerful and highly active... They may even rise to become one of the strongest Dark Guilds."

Makarov nodded. "Exactly. So, at yesterday's regular meeting, the guild masters decided to form an allied force to subjugate them and crush them in the cradle."

Feng Lan sighed helplessly. "Ah... So that means we're involved..."

Makarov scratched his head. "Hehe, you guessed right. This allied force will consist of Fairy Tail, Azure Pegasus, Serpent Princess's Scales, and Yaksha Mask."

Feng Lan nodded slightly. "I see... So who are we sending?"

Makarov smiled. "You!"

Feng Lan shrugged. "I know that. Who else?"

Makarov continued smiling merrily. "No one else. Just you."

And so, Feng Lan could only join the allied subjugation force by himself.

"Ugh... Sir, I'm going to sleep for a bit. Wake me when we get there." After giving the driver his instructions, Feng Lan closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Forty minutes later

"Wizard sir, we've arrived," the driver said as he woke Feng Lan.

Feng Lan slowly opened his eyes and stretched. "Mm, thank you... Here's the fare. Goodbye."

After getting out of the carriage, Feng Lan headed straight into a villa.

"Moshi Moshi, anyone here?" Feng Lan pushed open the front door and called out loudly.

"Someone else has finally arrived..." An ethereal voice drifted over. "Fairy Tail is the third... One more to go."

As the voice spoke, three figures emerged from the shadows.

Feng Lan stopped and looked at the three figures before him.

"Hello, I'm Feng Lan, an S-Class Mage from Fairy Tail. It's a pleasure to meet you." Feng Lan waved at the three of them.

The first to respond was a short, slightly plump man with brown hair and a lecherous-looking face. "What a powerful fragrance~ I'm Ichiya, a mage from Azure Pegasus. Men~"

Another boy, about Feng Lan's age, with long silver hair and a blue Taoist robe, also replied, "Hello, Mr. Feng Lan. My name is William... I'm an S-Class Mage from Azure Pegasus."

Finally, a bald man spoke. "Nice to meet you. I am Jura, an S-Class Mage from Serpent Princess's Scales."

Ichiya said awkwardly, "What an awkward fragrance. I'm clearly the oldest one here, yet I'm the only one who isn't an S-Class Mage... Men~"

"Heh... There's no need to worry, Mr. Ichiya. With your strength, becoming an S-Class Mage is only a matter of time," William reassured him.

Jura said with clear delight, "Still, I never expected Fairy Tail to send Sea Ghost Feng Lan to join the battle. That's truly reassuring."

Feng Lan waved a hand. "Not at all. You flatter me."

Just as the four of them were talking, another figure walked in.

"Excuse me, is this the allied force of the Light Guilds? I'm a mage from Yaksha Mask."

A red-haired girl dressed in orange casual clothes walked in, cheerfully greeting Feng Lan and the others.

Feng Lan nodded. "That's right. This is the allied force's gathering point."

"Even though I left so early, I still ended up arriving last." The girl giggled. "Hehe, I'm Mati, an A-Class Mage from the mage guild Yaksha Mask! Nice to meet you!"

Afterward, Feng Lan and the others introduced themselves to Mati as well.

Mati cried out excitedly, "Wow! I didn't expect Fairy Tail to send that Feng Lan! Can I get your autograph later?"

Feng Lan smiled awkwardly. "If you don't mind, of course... But am I really that famous...?"

William nodded. "Of course. Though Jura and I are both S-Class Mages as well, our names are clearly nowhere near as renowned as yours."

Jura looked at everyone and said, "Everyone, now that we're all here, I believe that for the battle ahead, we first need to understand each other's magic."

Ichiya agreed. "That's right. Only then can we complete the mission more effectively."

William spoke first. "That makes sense... My magic is Light Magic."

Ichiya followed immediately. "Perfume Magic is my magic. I can use the small bottles of perfume essence I carry with me to produce various effects based on their different scents. It has excellent support capabilities."

Feng Lan added, "I'm proficient in many types of water magic, such as water elemental magic and Water Make Magic. The one I'm best at, though, is Water Dragon Slayer Magic."

"As expected of Mr. Feng Lan. I thought you only knew Dragon Slayer Magic," Jura said. "My magic isn't as powerful as yours. It's Earth Magic."

Mati put her hands on her hips and said confidently, "Hehe, my magic is Fire Make Magic! It's really strong, you know~"

"Alright, does anyone have a battle plan?" Feng Lan nodded and asked the others. "How should we proceed?"

Jura stepped forward and took out a map. "This valley is the base of the Dark Guild Broken Wings of Blazing Heaven. Most of their guild members are here."

William asked, "So we're attacking them head-on?"

Feng Lan shook his head. "That wouldn't be prudent. If they use any dirty tricks, we could very well be wiped out."

Jura nodded. "That's right. So the plan I've devised is for the five of us to split into two groups. One group will attack Broken Wings of Blazing Heaven from the front."

Ichiya asked, "And the other group? Surely they won't just stand by?"

Jura explained, "Of course not. Our investigation revealed that their guild also has five exceptionally powerful S-Class Mages—the Five Heavenly Kings."

Feng Lan nodded. "So, Mr. Jura, you mean for the other group to fight the Five Heavenly Kings and keep them from supporting the main force, right?"

"Exactly. What are everyone's thoughts on the group assignments..." Jura continued.

Feng Lan raised his hand. "I'll deal with the Five Heavenly Kings."

Mati raised her hand as well and shouted excitedly, "I'm going too! I want to act together with Lord Feng Lan!"

Feng Lan said with a face full of black lines, "Lord... Feng Lan? What kind of address is that...? Could you not call me that?"

Mati scratched her head awkwardly. "Mati is fifteen this year. Lord Feng Lan should be older than me, right?"

"I'm seventeen," Feng Lan said, leaning against the wall.

"Then can I call you Brother Feng Lan?" Mati asked, her face full of anticipation and excitement.

Feng Lan nodded. "Of course. That sounds much better."

Jura smiled. "Then it's settled. Mr. Feng Lan and Miss Mati will deal with the Five Heavenly Kings. Mr. Ichiya and Mr. William will join me in the frontal assault."

They looked at one another. "Alright, then... let's move!"
