Kushina was very receptive to advice. She tossed the Uchiha brute in her hands into the crowd, sending quite a few people sprawling and crying out in pain.
After doing all that, she clapped her hands, planted them on her hips, and glared at the remaining Uchiha.
"Serves you right for bullying people..."
Whoosh...
Before Kushina could finish speaking, she suddenly heard something cut through the air. A kunai flew straight at her.
The speeding kunai made her face go pale. She wanted to dodge, but it seemed she was too late!
Liuyun's brows shot up. In his haste, he reached out his hand. Relying on his excellent eyesight and reflexes, he caught the kunai in one swift motion.
Bright red blood slowly dripped from his hand. The sharply angled kunai had sliced two small cuts across his palm.
This was only an unsharpened kunai used for Throwing Technique practice at school. Had it been a genuinely sharpened kunai, he would have lost the use of that hand.
Ignoring his injury, Liuyun flipped the kunai around and, without a second thought, hurled it back at its original owner.
"Ah..."
A shrill scream rang out as the kunai plunged straight into Uchiha Kazuhiko's thigh.
Seeing blood had been drawn, many of the elementary students watching sensed that things had gone badly wrong and fled in panic. When the Uchiha students saw the situation spiraling out of control, they hurriedly carried off the screaming Uchiha Kazuhiko and fled the scene.
They no longer had any mind to fight. This matter had become far too serious; the teachers would definitely intervene.
"Liuyun, your hand..." Kushina clutched Liuyun's hand, so anxious that she could barely speak.
If Liuyun had not raised his hand to catch the kunai just now, she would have been the one hurt!
The thought that someone had willingly risked himself to block a kunai for her instantly made Kushina's eyes redden. Tears slid down her cheeks despite herself.
"Why are you so foolish? Didn't you know kunai are dangerous? You actually dared to catch one barehanded..." Kushina was angry and moved to tears at the same time.
"Precisely because it was dangerous, I had to catch it. If that hit you, wouldn't it punch a hole in you?"
Liuyun answered with a serious expression.
"You already stepped in to teach them a lesson for me. How could I let you get hurt?"
At those words, Kushina froze for a moment. The next instant, her lips trembled, and she burst into tears.
She had been in this unfamiliar village for so long, yet this was the first time someone her age had cared about her.
He had recklessly risked himself to protect her! There was no way it could have been fake!
What girl could withstand being struck like that?
Kushina threw her arms around Liuyun and sobbed uncontrollably.
"When did those two secretly get together? They're already this intimate?" A girl noticed the scene and cried out in surprise.
"Yeah... They've already reached the point of fighting enemies for each other and taking a 'blade' for their other half..."
Quite a few classmates were stunned when they heard that.
When had those two gotten together???
For no apparent reason, they had been fed a mouthful of romance, and they had no idea what sort of romantic love story had taken place between the two of them...
But in the eyes of some girls, a man who dared to block a kunai for the opposite sex or his other half was undoubtedly true love!
Some girls looked at Kushina with a hint of jealousy. They wanted to find a handsome boy like that too...
"Alright, stop crying. It's only a superficial wound. It'll scab over soon enough..."
Liuyun patted her back and smiled.
If you think this book is good, please remember to add it to your bookshelf so you can find it next time.
"A lot of people are watching..."
At those words, Kushina immediately came to her senses.
She gave the gossiping crowd in the classroom a quick glance. Her little face turned as red as a ripe tomato, and the next moment, she hurriedly pushed Liuyun away and ran back to her seat. Then she buried her head in her arms, too embarrassed to face anyone.
Liuyun accepted the paper a classmate handed him and lightly clenched his palm, quickly stopping the bleeding.
Just as Liuyun had expected, their homeroom teacher, Oda-sensei, soon came running over to haul them away.
"Uchiha Liuyun, Kushina Uzumaki, both of you, come to my office immediately!"
After arriving at the teachers' office, Xiaotian first examined Liuyun's injury. Once he confirmed that it was only a minor superficial wound, he breathed a sigh of relief.
But the next moment, he still took out some bandages and dutifully wrapped Liuyun's wound.
"What exactly happened between you and Uchiha Kazuhiko?" Xiaotian stared at Liuyun and asked in a deep voice.
Liuyun helplessly explained the grudge between them. Plenty of people had seen what happened, so lying was pointless. All he could do was try his best to keep Kushina out of it.
"So you really were the one who struck first? You knocked out two of his teeth?" Xiaotian clutched his head in frustration.
"That guy said such awful things, and he even threatened to make Liuyun suffer. Knocking out two of his teeth was going easy on him..." Kushina muttered softly.
"Shut up! I haven't even dealt with you yet!"
Xiaotian roared at Kushina repeatedly, his spittle nearly spraying onto her face.
"Oda-sensei, this isn't Kushina's fault. She stepped in out of a sense of justice because we're classmates and desk mates. If not for her, I might have been beaten to death today!"
Liuyun spoke seriously. He cast Kushina as someone who had acted bravely for a just cause. That way, not only would she be free of blame, she might even receive credit.
In fact, that was more or less what had happened, except Kushina had been the first to strike...
"Is that so, Kushina?" Xiaotian stared at Kushina suspiciously.
"Of course it is! She doesn't even know Uchiha Kazuhiko, and there was no grudge or conflict between them. If she hadn't been protecting a classmate, why would she attack someone for no reason?"
"Oda-sensei, I think Kushina's intention in protecting her classmate was good. You can't say she was at fault just because she won the fight. If that counts as a mistake, then no one will dare to stand up for justice in the future..."
Liuyun rushed to explain before Kushina could speak.
Upon hearing this explanation, Oda-sensei actually nodded subconsciously, finding it quite reasonable.
"..."
Kushina stared blankly at Liuyun. She had to admit that this man was incredibly eloquent. With just a few simple sentences, he had cleared her of all blame...
She even felt that Oda-sensei might praise her for her "righteous act"...
Since when could fighting at school earn praise from a teacher???
"Let's not talk about Kushina for now. Uchiha Kazuhiko was seriously injured, and his homeroom teacher is furious. He even said he wanted to report this to the Hokage. What do you think we should do about this?" Xiaotian said as he looked at Liuyun.
Since you're so eloquent, then give me another explanation...
"Oda-sensei, I think Uchiha Kazuhiko should be dealt with severely. That guy openly attempted murder in someone else's classroom. His intentions are malicious, and he should be harshly punished!"
Liuyun spoke seriously, and his very first words stunned the surrounding teachers.
"The kunai belonged to Uchiha Kazuhiko, and he threw it with the intent to kill. His target was Kushina's throat. If I hadn't caught the kunai in time, Kushina might already be dead..."
"What?!"
Upon hearing this, Xiaotian immediately rose from his seat. This matter was even worse and more serious than he had imagined!
"No, this must be reported to the Hokage!" Xiaotian made the decision on the spot. This was no longer something he could handle himself!
