At Lucifer Manor, half a day had passed since the battle. Night had fallen, stars dotted the sky, and the moon hung high overhead. The manor was brightly lit.
In the villa's living room, Carlos sat on the sofa, listening to his subordinates' report on the battle casualties.
Though they had won a resounding victory overall today, he had still lost more than five hundred men. Several subordinate leaders and leaders had died, while one leader had suffered serious injuries.
After hearing the report, Carlos said, "Handle the aftermath as quickly as possible, especially the compensation for our fallen brothers' families. It must be paid in full. Anyone who dares line his pockets with that money had better prepare a coffin in advance."
"Please rest assured, Boss. I'll supervise it strictly. If anything goes wrong, I'm willing to accept punishment!" Noah, the foremost of the three leaders, promptly declared.
The other leaders and subordinate leaders present hurriedly voiced their agreement as well.
"Alright, go make the arrangements. Also, find a day to hold a victory banquet."
"Yes." Everyone answered in unison, then respectfully backed away and left.
"Tell the man outside to come in." After lighting a cigarette, Carlos spoke. One of the personal guards attending him hurried out to deliver the message.
Before long, Degu carefully entered the living room under the escort of a sharply dressed personal guard.
"Boss Carlos." Degu's expression was solemn as he bowed deeply.
Carlos nodded and said expressionlessly, "Do you know why I spared your life?"
"Because Boss Carlos lacks high-end combat power under his command. Also, because you hoped to obtain key intelligence about the John Family from me."
"You're quite a big fellow. I didn't expect you to be so smart. That's right."
Degu's expression turned somewhat strange. What did his
