Lakesius took in Neuvillette after finding him during a freezing winter night. Although he noticed that Neuvillette was abnormal even as a child—including an almost unchanged body temperature in below-freezing weather—he chose not to pry and raised him as his adopted grandson. 2 348

As a Peak Soul Douluo, Lakesius personally oversaw Neuvillette's Spirit Awakening. The process drained roughly eighty percent of his Soul Power, yet he maintained it rather than risk harming his grandson's future. He was astonished by Neuvillette's humanoid Martial Soul, the Tome of Eternal Flow, and his Twin Martial Souls. 3

He concealed Neuvillette's Innate Soul Power of Level 20 and Twin Martial Souls from even the other Seven Great Families, fearing that major factions would attempt assassination or exploitation. He also encouraged Neuvillette to hide his second Martial Soul and publicly suppress the apparent number of his soul rings. 4 8 103

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Neuvillette persuaded Lakesius to take Immortal Herbs for himself rather than reserve every resource for his grandson.
