Cultivation

The continent's conventional cultivation path proceeds from Qi Refining Realm through Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Spirit Transformation, Spirit Severing, Body Integration, and Tribulation Crossing, followed by the Great Ascension Realm. Great Ascension cultivators who complete the transformation of Spiritual Power into Immortal Power may ascend to immortality. 107 618

For much of the known era, the incomplete Heaven and Earth Laws prevented cultivators from comprehending complete Laws and advancing naturally to the Body Integration Realm. Spirit Severing Realm therefore became the effective upper limit for most native cultivators. 868 1034

History

Ancient Era and Decline

Xuantian Continent and the Spirit Realm originated from the same source before gradually separating into independent worlds. Despite their separation, residual connections between them remained. 872 876

In the ancient era, Xuantian Continent possessed complete Laws and produced numerous Body Integration Realm cultivators and immortals. It was once powerful enough to make the Spirit Realm wary. 1034

The Qiankun Creation Cauldron was the continent's origin core. During the final battle between Xuantian Immortal Emperor and Ling Yu Immortal Emperor, Xuantian Immortal Emperor detonated the cauldron to severely wound Ling Yu and destroy the passage between the Immortal Realm and the lower realms. The cauldron shattered, its fragments scattered across the continent, and the Heaven and Earth Laws became incomplete. 1169 1334

Era of Incomplete Laws

The damaged Laws caused Xuantian Continent's cultivation world to decline. Spiritual Energy and resources became comparatively scarce, high-level cultivators became rare, and the path to the Immortal Realm was severed. 876 1034

The Cross-Realm Teleportation Array remained active because it was connected to the origins of both Xuantian Continent and the Spirit Realm; destroying it prematurely would have accelerated Xuantian Continent's collapse. When the array opened, it drew Spiritual Energy from the Spirit Realm, helping sustain Xuantian Continent. 1161

The Spirit Realm repeatedly exploited these openings. Its forces plundered resources from Xuantian Continent and targeted promising local cultivators to prevent the continent from producing rivals capable of reaching higher realms. 1113 1325

Restoration of the Heaven and Earth Laws

After gathering the nine fragments of the Qiankun Creation Cauldron, Chen Ze used the Sky Mending Technique to restore it. The restoration caused a continent-wide phenomenon: mountains shifted, rivers changed course, Spiritual Energy surged, and long-stagnant cultivation bottlenecks loosened. 1334

The repaired cauldron restored the Heaven and Earth Laws, allowing Xuantian Continent's cultivators to resume normal advancement rather than remaining constrained by the former Spirit Severing Realm limit. 1334 1336

• Spirit Realm — A related but hostile higher realm that once shared an origin with Xuantian Continent. Its major factions treated the continent as a source of resources and a threat to be suppressed. 876 1113 1325
• Cross-Realm Teleportation Array — An ancient array that periodically linked Xuantian Continent and the Spirit Realm, transferring Spiritual Energy while enabling cross-realm movement. 1113 1133
