Chaos exists beyond Small Worlds and is governed by the Great Dao of Chaos, whose rank surpasses the Great Dao laws of Lin Zheyu's original world 637. Candle Dragon describes a Small World's Great Dao as a tributary of Chaos's main trunk; even a cultivator who has comprehended a Small World's Origin Dao has only grasped part of the corresponding Great Dao after entering Chaos 718.

The disparity between Chaos and Small Worlds directly weakens outsiders. Small World cultivators struggle to absorb and use Chaos-origin power because it contains unfamiliar “impurities” and because their previously cultivated Origins do not fully correspond to Chaos's complete Great Dao 718.

• The Great Dao of Chaos can devour vitality and lifespan while corroding void and local Great Dao laws 637.
• Chaos Energy is highly mixed; after filtering and purification, only a minute fraction may be useful to a newly arrived cultivator 734.
• Cultivators generally require at least the Spirit Transformation Realm to withstand Chaos's erosion and move freely within it 735.

Chaos contains unstable regions and natural hazards that can become either obstacles or battlefields.

• Tidal Energy Cold Tides — Vast regions filled with dangerous cold energy and Ice-Blue beasts; Lin Zheyu used one to hinder and ambush Seton, Sera, and a third pursuer 733 734.
• Twisted Voids and Void Rifts — Distorted areas containing numerous rifts and hazardous spatial forces. Lin Zheyu entered one while seeking Chaos Origin Essence and used his understanding of the void to avoid or interfere with its rifts 737 738.
• Dark Voids — Void-like regions tied to Lin Zheyu's inquiries into “Nothingness,” the Chaos Universe's origin, and the nature of existence before creation 1240.
• Destructive vortices — Black-hole-like vortices can continuously release Destructive Power and special substances into the surrounding void 740.

Chaos Origin Essence

Chaos Origin Essence is a purple-black, fluorescent substance with broad cultivation value in Chaos 734 740.

• It can be created when special substances near destructive vortices absorb the energy released by shattered void and Destructive Power 740.
• It is considered a relatively valuable but abundant resource among Chaos powerhouses 740.
• After absorbing it, Lin Zheyu's Inner Cosmic Void became more complete and filtered Chaos Energy more efficiently 734.
• Its absorption also reduced Lin Zheyu's discomfort after entering Chaos and appeared to grant his body traits associated with Chaos Creatures 734.
• Ten portions—each equivalent to the amount Lin obtained from Philigana and the White Jade Spider—were valued at 7.48 million Chaos Origin Crystals by Ten Thousand Treasures Pavilion 750.

Inhabitants and Factions

Chaos is inhabited by numerous powerful races, cultivators, and entities collectively described as Chaos powerhouses. Their strength, methods, and origins vary greatly, and many factions span multiple Chaos Domains 1173.

• Chaos Gods and Demons — A designation associated with the Dao Integration level in Lin Zheyu's world; Lin Zheyu reached a comparable level after cultivating the Four Symbols Divine Light through his own power 661.
• Chaos Exotic Races — Non-human races capable of appearing in or transforming into Human Race forms; special defenses were established against powerful Chaos Exotic Races disguising themselves as humans 754 767.
• Three major overlord factions — The Painful Demonic Abyss, Shadow Divine Court, and Eternal Silence Royal Court each span countless Chaos Domains 1173.
• Other major forces — Top factions can control territory across several Chaos Domains, while cultivators from the Dao Ancestor Ancestral Court also operate in the Profound Sea Domain 1173.

Several Chaos powerhouses covet Lin Zheyu's abnormal growth and the presumed treasure responsible for his rapid rise. Philigana and the White Jade Spider attempted to force him to surrender it, while other entities watched or fought among themselves for the same opportunity 721 729.

Relationship with Small Worlds

Chaos powerhouses can descend into Small Worlds through special passages, but the target world's Heavenly Dao heavily suppresses their strength 637 675. A descended Chaos powerhouse may attempt to merge with a local body to establish itself, as one did with the corpse of an Ancient Witch Clan expert in Netherworld Hell 674.

The relationship is not one-sided:

• Small World cultivators are disadvantaged in Chaos because their Origin comprehension is incomplete relative to the Great Dao of Chaos 718.
• Near his own Small World, Lin Zheyu could use the power of the Heavenly Dao to repel attacking Chaos powerhouses, though doing so outside the world consumed immense energy 721.
• The Creation Ark was refined specifically to allow its occupants to survive the erosion and unknown dangers of Chaos should their world be destroyed 593 639.
• Lin Zheyu left his Small World and formally entered Chaos after freeing the Four Symbols Divine Beasts and retrieving his clones from the Terror Abyss 732.

Chaos Tribulation and the End Tribulation

The Chaos Tribulation is a catastrophic force that can pursue targets across regions and draw powerful entities toward them 1242 1244. Lin Zheyu's return to the Chaos Universe triggered such a tribulation, while seven powerful existences sealed the surrounding area and attacked him 1242.

The greater End Tribulation is an era-ending calamity capable of destroying an entire Chaos Universe era and initiating a new one 1200 1233.

• Eternal Silence City was constructed to resist the Chaos Tribulation rather than ordinary threats 1200.
• The End Tribulation's Origin Power possesses a Destruction Aura capable of silencing all things and annihilating universal space-time 1233.
• Lin Zheyu's transformed Martial Path Divine Eye, later named the Eye of the End, can perceive and wield insights connected to the End Tribulation's destructive power 1235 1240.
