Wang Chen helped Princess Qingyun claim power, defended Hanhai Pass, and built a new domain as refugees fled Great Liang’s concessions. After completing the Mountain River Great Formation and declaring Qingyun Empress Wu Zhao, he led the Western Liang Legion into Yan territory.

• Wang Chen uncovered a poisoning plot at Mingyu Palace and learned from Shangguan Wuji that Prince Jing had reclaimed the throne and planned to force Princess Qingyun into marriage with the Barbarian King.
• Princess Qingyun rejected exile and pledged to challenge Prince Jing, while Wang Chen and the Imperial Forest Guards swore their support for her and prepared to take Hanhai City.

He joined the Seven Severing Society, and the arc ended with the group planning to hunt a fourth-tier green flood dragon guarding a spirit mine.

• Wang Chen captured Dongwang City and later helped defeat nearly four hundred thousand Yan troops, then refined Yan Wuhui’s corpse into an External Incarnation.

After mastering the Seven Absolute Sword Art, Wang Chen tested its formation by killing four Golden Core cultivators who tried to use him as a shield.

• Huangfu Yongchun gathered six Golden Core cultivators, trained them in the Seven Severing Sword Formation, and led them to hunt a fourth-tier flood dragon.
• Wang Chen sacrificed his External Core to pierce the flood dragon’s eye, then killed it with the Heavenly Dragon Vajra Palm as its soul was swallowed by the Primordial Dao Stele.

After Huangfu Yongchun betrayed him, Wang Chen gained control of the Xuan You Immortal Mansion and broke through to Nascent Soul, then returned to Luodu and later went back to Cangqing Realm.

• Wang Chen restored the Mountain River Great Formation, rescued Hanhai Dao Palace from the siege, and reunited with Xi Jun after ten years away.
• Wang Chen pursued the retreating invaders, took control of Hanhai, and led a western expedition that conquered tribes and captured Gujin Pass.
