Background and Authority

Shrek Academy was an institution known across the Douluo Continent, including the Sun Moon Empire. Its admission standards were widely regarded as exceptionally harsh. 10 11

The academy is based in Shrek City, an independent city not belonging to any nation and governed solely by Shrek Academy. Huo Yuhao characterizes its political position as that of an “Emperor Emeritus” over the Douluo Three Kingdoms, citing its ability to influence Titled Douluo, military commanders, and national affairs despite its nominally academic status. 11

Shrek Academy collected annual taxes greater than those of the nations, maintained a private army, and received Shrek City's tax revenue. Its additional income included Soul Tool sales to the Three Great Empires, external missions, and soul-beast hunting. 11 94

The academy publicly presented itself as an impartial guardian of peace. Its Inner Court was governed by the Sea God Pavilion, while its senior members maintained influence through the Shrek Monitoring Group and ties to the Tang Sect. 136 288

Following the loss of the Golden Ancient Tree and the disappearance of the Inner Court island, Inner Court students and Sea God Pavilion members were temporarily relocated to the Outer Court. 294

Elder Xuan later advanced to Limit Douluo and attempted to restore Shrek Academy's position by portraying Huo Yuhao and the Radiant Sect as enemies of the continent. 324
