Background / History

The City of Slaughter functions as both a containment site for dangerous criminals and an ancient trial established by the Asura God. Spirit Hall sends batches of fallen individuals and heinous criminals there, removing many unstable evil Soul Masters from the outside world; however, its prison population may also include innocents caught by Spirit Hall's darker practices. 42 70 79

Passing its trial can grant the Slaughter God's Domain. A participant who obtains the Asura Sacred Sword may also gain the Asura God's favor and potentially become the successor to the Asura God position. 70

The City is administered by the Slaughter King, whose body is a parasitized Tang Chen controlled by the Blood Red Nine-Headed Bat King. The Bat King's true form remains in the Asura God's secret trial realm, while its parasitic body governs the City. 80

Appearance

The City is approached through a small, gray, unnaturally quiet town near Motto City. Its entrance leads through a cold, dark passage toward a portal and the main city beyond. 71 72

Ye Feng and Qian Renxue's Entry

Ye Feng reveals the City's identity as an Asura God trial and invites Qian Renxue to seek the Slaughter God's Domain. They locate the City roughly eighty kilometers northwest of Motto City and enter through its gray outer settlement. 70 71

At the entrance tavern, Qian Renxue refuses to drink Bloody Mary after learning it is human blood. Ye Feng kills the tavern owner, while Qian Renxue defeats two Enforcer Knight captains; they are admitted as Numbers 8888 and 8887. 72

The Sword Demon

Qian Renxue and Ye Feng rapidly dominate the Hell Slaughter Arena, completing ten consecutive victories on their first day. 75

The City's toxins affect Qian Renxue quickly, as her Angel Martial Soul's purification power clashes with the City's evil influence. She vents her bloodlust through repeated killings and becomes feared throughout the City as the Sword Demon. 75 76

Early Hell Road Opening

Because Qian Renxue's killings empty the inner city and leave too few opponents for the arena, Ye Feng pretends to accept the Slaughter King's recruitment. In return, he demands that the Hell Road be opened early for Qian Renxue. 77

The Slaughter King agrees after receiving enough sacrificial victims. He forces the arena audience into a murderous frenzy, using their blood to form a giant bat-shaped ritual that opens the Hell Road for Qian Renxue. 79

Ye Feng's Escape

After Qian Renxue leaves, Ye Feng comprehends the City’s slaughter rules and forms a Slaughter Realm. This breaks the City's suppression of his Soul Skills. 80 82

The Slaughter King attempts to bind Ye Feng with a blood seal and make him a servant, but Ye Feng escapes through spatial displacement. The Slaughter King leaves the City to pursue him, only to be defeated outside by Qian Daoliu and retreat back into the City. 82 83
