Pent-Up Frustration

Ever since returning from Mogu Peak, Lu Ran had obediently remained at The Ends of the Earth.

He painstakingly searched for a way to ascend to heaven.

Yet as the days passed, Lu Ran was always just that tiny bit short.

It was rather ironic. When he had guided Great Nightmare, just a few words had allowed her to smoothly step into the Heaven Realm. Yet when it came to Lu Ran himself, he had gotten stuck.

When they lectured others, they understood everything perfectly.

Lu Ran found it both helpless and amusing. Just then, Evil Shadow Guardian, who had been in seclusion all this while, finally broke through her bottleneck. Mist drifted through heaven and earth once more, so he simply remained at Heaven's Edge to guard Yan Shuangzi.

Another seven or eight days passed.

Until the seventh day of August, Great Evil Shadow successfully exited seclusion and immediately sought him out at the sea cliff.

"Master." A female voice came from behind him, leaving Lu Ran looking utterly stunned.

He turned around, caught between laughter and tears. "The mist hasn't even fully cleared yet. Why are you in such a hurry to come out?"

Yan Shuangzi knelt on the ground with her head lowered, saying nothing.

Lu Ran grinned. "Then consolidate your realm here! Focus. I'll protect you."

Yan Shuangzi kept her head bowed, the corners of her lips lifting into an almost imperceptible curve. "Yes."

"Whew~"

The sea breeze swept by, and the mist gradually dispersed.

The Ends of the Earth regained its clarity, yet the sky remained overcast. The endlessly churning sea of clouds made waves of anger rise within Lu Ran.
