The Commander's Residence did not cover much ground and was located in the same area as many other Commander's Residences.
The position of commander was neither particularly high nor low. There were many commanders in the Blade Edge Battalion, each commanding a different number of troops. A commander normally had around a hundred Martial Gods under him, while the number of ordinary soldiers below the Martial God realm was even greater.
Fan Lang entered the Commander's Residence, where dedicated personnel received him. Everything was handled by someone, so he did not need to worry about minor matters.
On the day he moved in, he ordered his subordinates to assemble. He had expected to summon quite a few people, but only a handful came, and not a single Martial God was among them!
This was clearly wrong. A normal commander would not have such a pathetic force under him.
Fan Lang summoned the steward of the Commander's Residence and asked what was going on, receiving the answer from him.
"Reporting to the Commander, this is the situation: no corresponding personnel have been assigned under your command, so not many people answered the summons. Please do not worry. People will naturally be assigned to you later. There are many commanders in the military camp, and some newly appointed commanders or commanders holding nominal posts have very few people under them. But rest assured, none of the proper treatment and benefits will be withheld. Your military pay will be issued when the month comes." The steward smiled ingratiatingly.
"I understand. So I'm a commander without an army, holding an empty title without the corresponding troops. The people under me are even fewer than when I was a Sweeping Officer." Fan Lang sneered.
"There will be people later. There will be." The steward's smile
