The carriage traveled out through Wind Cloud City's western gate and came to a stop. It would be useless for the road ahead.
Fan Lang and the two women got out of the carriage, while the driver headed back the way he had come.
Inside and outside the city were two different worlds. The city was relatively safe, while all kinds of dangers lurked beyond its walls. Some people even spent their entire lives inside the city, never taking a single step outside.
Cheng Naixin had been one of those people for the first half of her life. She had hardly ever left Wind Cloud City, so the outside world was utterly unfamiliar to her. Trembling, she looked around and quietly moved closer to Fan Lang, seeking a sense of safety. She had none of the courage an Mystic Spirit should possess.
"Beauty, you're standing too close to me." Fan Lang glanced at Cheng Naixin, who was practically pressed against him. Those two half-spheres were rather distracting.
"I've never left the city before. I'm a little scared," Cheng Naixin said timidly.
"With me here, what are you afraid of? Even if the sky falls, I'll hold it up," Fan Lang said, patting his chest.
"You'll protect me?"
"I'll protect those."
Fan Lang pointed lewdly at Cheng Naixin's two big white rabbits.
At first, Cheng Naixin did not understand. She lowered her head to look, then finally caught his dirty joke. Two blushes appeared on her pretty face.
Fan Lang smiled and did not continue teasing her. Instead, he took out a Summoning Card, infused it with Mystic Power, and flung it forward. The card flashed with Streaks of Light and transformed into a Flying Waterfall Shark.
The Flying Waterfall Shark was seven meters long, its entire body water-blue. Its shark's
