Soul Bone

Standard placements: Head, torso, two arms, and two legs. Head Soul Bones are generally the most prized standard type, followed by torso bones 568.
Completeness: A Soul Bone may cover only part of its placement. Tian Hao receives an incomplete leg bone that covers the calf but not the thigh; incomplete bones can be spliced together 8.
Torso components: A complete Torso Soul Bone includes an upper section connecting the arms, a spine connecting the set—particularly the head—and a pelvis connecting the legs 463.
External Soul Bones: Exceptionally rare bones outside the six standard placements. They can evolve alongside a compatible Martial Soul 568 577.
Organ-type Soul Bones: Tian Hao finds a hundred-thousand-year Brain Soul Bone and studies its structure as a model for transforming flesh into soul bones 431.

A Soul Beast’s qi-blood power forms a Soul Bone’s structural foundation, while remaining Soul Ring origin power determines its attributes and any Soul Bone Skill. The quantity and quality of qi-blood affect completeness and strength; insufficient origin power can leave a bone with an attribute but no skill 252 387.

A Soul Master ordinarily refines a Soul Bone into their body or skeleton, rather than into their Martial Soul as they would a Soul Ring 568.
Bloodline power released by a fresh Soul Bone can improve physical constitution. A fresh bone can also increase Soul Power; one already refined by previous owners lacks that fresh-bone benefit 5 351 568.
Compatibility matters when combining bones. Mixed attributes in an assembled set can cause backlash unless they are cleansed or otherwise reconciled 463.
Soul Bones can also serve as vessels for separated Soul Ring origin power, allowing a Spirit Ring to be stored in a Soul Beast bone 40 45 227.

Soul Bone Skills

Not guaranteed: A Soul Bone may have no skill if too little origin power remains during its formation 251 387.
Dual skills: Tian Hao finds that a bone carrying two skills needs distinct attributes capable of supporting them and a balance between their origin powers. He temporarily adds a space-related skill to Guang Ling’s ice-and-space Head Soul Bone, but further refinement is needed for it to merge fully 253.
Individual limits: A skill may exceed its bone’s capacity. Tian Hao’s Source of Power has nine amplification levels, but its arm bone initially withstands only threefold strength 252.

Soul Bone Sets

A Soul Bone Set combines compatible bones so their powers can fuse, producing more than a collection of unrelated bones. Bones from the same species—or ideally the same Soul Beast—offer the best prospect of a complete fusion 577 614.

Spirit Hall’s Angel Set is an early example: its pieces can merge and transform into Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bones 248 614.
A sufficiently developed set can manifest as full-body armor. Jing Ling, Huang Yuan, and Jiang Zhu display such sets during the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament 614.
Raising every bone in a set to the god level can turn the set into God Equipment. Tian Hao describes compatible External Soul Bones evolving with a Martial Soul and helping drive the rest of a set’s evolution 577.
