Overview

Soul Skills are abilities formed through the interaction of a Soul Master's Martial Soul and Soul Ring. A Soul Ring generally carries a Soul Beast's innate trait, but the Soul Master's Martial Soul strongly shapes the final skill, its compatibility, and its effectiveness. Higher-grade Martial Souls can produce stronger results from equivalent Soul Rings, while poorly matched rings may offer limited benefit or even destabilize a Martial Soul's development 529 550 574.

Soul Skills are ordinarily acquired from Soul Rings, but the novel also presents ways to copy, extract, transfer, fuse, replace, refine, and independently develop them.

Formation and Soul Ring Relationship

• Soul Beasts possess multiple innate traits; when a human refines a Soul Ring, the Martial Soul usually selects the trait with the highest compatibility to form a Soul Skill. Other traits are normally wasted 36.

Copying
