Harvey's Attitude

Harvey left the press conference venue and went to his luxury car.

"Let's go somewhere I feel safe, and I'll listen to what you have to say."

Harvey Anberaka looked at Coulson, who had caught up, and motioned for him to get in the car.

Coulson didn't stand on ceremony, opened the car door, and got in.

Harvey drove away, heading towards his estate.

"What exactly do you want from me?"

Harvey asked casually on the way.

"Mr. Harvey Anberaka."

"We, the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, are a special force established by the International Security Council to deal with various strange incidents."

"First, I can assure you that our department has no ill intentions towards high-net-worth taxpayers like yourself."

"It's just that your rise has undoubtedly been very rapid and smooth, so based on our judgment, you might possess some superpowers."

"Therefore, we would like to talk with you, and if possible, we hope to invite you to join us and contribute to Earth."

Coulson didn't hide anything upon hearing this, formally introducing himself and stating his purpose.

"So, you have no evidence, and just because you suspect I have superpowers, you sent that crazy woman to test me?"

"And she even shot at me?"

"This doesn't seem like a wise move to talk with me and recruit me to join you."

Harvey didn't give Coulson a better attitude just because of his friendly demeanor, instead continuing to criticize Black Widow Natasha for the bad impression she gave him.

"Because we encountered some issues that day, the agent acted a bit hastily."

"However, while she may have startled you, she shouldn't have actually harmed you, so please be understanding."

Coulson's expression became a bit awkward upon hearing Harvey's blunt attitude.

If it were an ordinary person, Coulson could have been more assertive. However, facing a high-net-worth taxpayer like Harvey Anberaka, who had no scandals or leverage against him.

His attitude couldn't be too aggressive, to avoid leaving an even worse impression.

Even if Harvey Anberaka wasn't a superpowered individual, based on his actions over the past two years.

Given time to rise, Harvey Anberaka might even become an investor in some of their projects in the future.

"She didn't hurt me, but she scared me so much that I didn't dare to go out for a while."

Harvey's expression softened slightly, but his words still carried complaints and dissatisfaction.

"Mr. Harvey Anberaka, I am deeply sorry for that."

Coulson sincerely apologized on behalf of Black Widow Natasha.

"The ideal of contributing to Earth is noble, provided that your internal intentions have never changed from the beginning, and you haven't become a tool for certain politicians."

"But I think it's impossible for you not to be controlled by those politicians."

"After all, your department was established by the International Security Council, and I'm afraid you've been deeply controlled by them from the start, unable to act freely in many matters, haven't you?"

"And I am just an ordinary citizen with some money, who doesn't have to worry about work or money."

"So please don't bother me anymore."

"If, in the future, I truly receive some help and protection from you, I will sincerely express my gratitude."

"But you should know, it's definitely not now."

Harvey stopped the car, stated his thoughts, and finally distanced himself.

He could accept money for tasks and do the work, but the idea of him joining the Avengers Initiative, being constrained and directed by others, was absolutely impossible.

Whatever he wanted to do was entirely up to his own will, and if others wanted to command him, they would have to see if they had the capability.

At least the S.H.I.E.L.D. Hydra Division didn't, American politicians certainly didn't, and public outcry couldn't affect him.

He didn't want to reveal his identity now because the time wasn't right, and he didn't want to disrupt his comfortable life and affect his evolutionary speed.

But if S.H.I.E.L.D. went too far, he would teach S.H.I.E.L.D. and America a good lesson.

Coulson saw the car stop and heard from Harvey Anberaka his disgust for politicians and his desire not to be controlled by others.

He couldn't deny that what Harvey Anberaka said was the truth.

"I understand. Thank you, Mr. Harvey Anberaka, for taking time out of your busy schedule to discuss your thoughts with me."

So Coulson fell silent for a moment, a look of apology on his face, and spoke.

Then, Coulson opened the car door and got out.

Although this conversation was not pleasant, Coulson had undoubtedly confirmed Harvey Anberaka's thoughts and attitude.

While he couldn't be completely sure if Harvey Anberaka was a superpowered individual, based on his attitude, Coulson was certain that regardless of whether Harvey Anberaka was superpowered or not, he would not agree to join them.

Because no matter how good the original intentions of establishing the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division sounded, it was still an organization influenced by politicians.

This was indeed one of the challenges and obstacles that would inevitably arise when they tried to recruit others later on.

Harvey opened the stock trading software, and as expected, Stark Industries' stock was emitting a green light as it continuously plummeted.

Countless retail investors and larger shareholders were frantically selling their shares.

They were afraid that if they were even a second late, the value of their shares would drop.

Harvey knew that the stock's value would surge once Tony Stark announced his transition to the energy industry and demonstrated results.

However, the current stock decline was just the beginning, so it wasn't time for him to start buying stocks in large quantities yet.
