I Have Money to Buy Lives

"Mr. Harvey Anberlaka, I hope you can forgive S.H.I.E.L.D.'s offense. We have no intention of becoming enemies with you."

Nick Fury looked at Harvey Anberaka and took the initiative to greet him.

"I don't care, as long as you stop bothering me."

"The great mission of saving Earth has nothing to do with an ordinary person like me."

Hearing that, Harvey raised his eyes to glance at Nick Fury before speaking.

"Given your relationship with Tony Stark, perhaps you could wear armor and become a superhero in the future."

Nick Fury spoke after hearing this.

According to the investigation, Tony Stark generally only invited women to his home for parties and rarely invited men.

If Tony Stark extended an invitation, it meant the two had a rather close relationship.

"Harvey Anberaka, I believe there are some misunderstandings between us. Perhaps we can talk."

However, his professionalism made Nick Fury suppress his thoughts. He put on a kind smile as he spoke.

"There's nothing for me to discuss with you."

"Last time, your people pointed guns at me. I reported it to the FBI, but you protected each other and got it settled."

"If I can't afford to provoke you, can't I at least avoid you?"

"But if you push me too far next time, I have plenty of money to buy lives."

Harvey noticed Nick Fury's body stiffen slightly and sneered.

Tony Stark's eyes flashed with shock at those words as he looked toward Nick Fury.

He knew S.H.I.E.L.D. had approached Harvey Anberaka in an attempt to recruit him, but he had not expected their probing to involve drawing guns.

Hearing Harvey Anberaka's threat and noticing Tony Stark's gaze, Nick Fury had a headache.

He had not expected Natasha's earlier actions to make Harvey Anberaka so disgusted with S.H.I.E.L.D.

Nor had they expected Tony Stark, originally just a scientist, to suddenly create such an epoch-making weapon as Iron Man armor.

Even less had they expected Harvey Anberaka to become what appeared to be a very close friend of Tony Stark's.

Moreover, Harvey Anberaka's words clearly showed that he knew about the dark web.

If he were pushed too far, Harvey Anberaka could simply spend a fortune to buy their lives. Even if they did not die, they would lose several layers of skin.

They might even die outright, for the dark web had Grim Reapers with terrifying strength who took lives for money.

Twenty million dollars required a great deal of preparation for them to mobilize, but for a wealthy man like Harvey Anberaka, it could be produced at any time.

And this wealthy man was still very young. It was entirely possible that youthful impulsiveness would make him disregard everything.

"Mr. Harvey Anberlaka, I deeply apologize for the actions of that agent from our agency. I'm sorry."

"We are not enemies. If the opportunity arises in the future, I hope we can truly clear up this misunderstanding."

In response, Nick Fury could only back down, lowering his head in apology.

Then, Nick Fury ended the video call.

After the video call ended.

"Awesome."

Tony Stark looked at Harvey Anberaka, gave him a thumbs-up, and spoke with admiration.

Based on the superpowers Harvey Anberaka had displayed before him, he clearly was not afraid of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yet Harvey Anberaka had never considered exposing his identity, instead resolving the matter directly as a young wealthy man.

"It's nothing awesome. It's simply what I need to do to maintain my public image."

Harvey replied calmly.

"I understand, but Harvey Anberaka, do you really have no interest in wearing Iron Man armor?"

"I'm already impressive piloting Iron Man armor. If it were you, as long as you understood its functions, wouldn't you be even better than me?"

Tony Stark naturally understood, but his eyes soon brightened as he looked at Harvey Anberaka and asked.

The performance of Iron Man armor was the same, but the pilot's ability still affected how much of that performance could be brought out.

Though he did not know exactly how powerful Harvey Anberaka was, he was clearly far stronger than himself.

"If I'm interested in the future, I'll take one from you."

Hearing this, Harvey glanced at the cool-looking Iron Man armor positioned against the innermost wall, considered it, and spoke.

"You can take one now too. It would give you some ability to protect yourself and help you hide your identity better."

Tony Stark said after hearing that.

"Tony Stark, I appreciate the thought."

"As long as I don't spend money to buy the lives of certain S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel, they can't make a move against me, because they were in the wrong first."

"But if I took one, it wouldn't make it easier for me to hide my identity."

"On the contrary, it would give those S.H.I.E.L.D. people an excuse to act against me on the grounds that I was harboring a dangerous weapon."

Harvey shook his head and spoke.

Because he had repeatedly reminded and helped Tony Stark, Tony Stark felt that he had received Harvey's help for nothing and wanted to give him something in return.

Harvey did not lack anything, so Tony Stark's thoughtfulness alone was enough.

"That does seem to be the case."

Tony Stark thought about it after hearing this and understood.

He and Harvey Anberaka were both among New York's wealthy elite, but there was still a difference between them.

As long as he remained alive, Stark Industries would continue to be America's technological pioneer.

He had developed Iron Man armor, so the military could not act against him directly and could only look for a good excuse.

For example, public opinion or something else, before they could obtain some of the things he did not wish to hand over.

Because the military did not yet have a good excuse to demand anything from him, all the Iron Man armor remained in his hands.

No matter what, the military could not push him too far, since he was not only a New York tycoon but also a super-genius scientist.

However, Harvey Anberaka's public identity was merely that of a New York tycoon.

Money could not fight power, and Harvey Anberaka was now at odds with S.H.I.E.L.D.

But as long as Harvey Anberaka did not make any dangerous moves or possess weapons that represented danger.

Even Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. could not trip Harvey Anberaka up, out of consideration for Tony Stark.
