Methods and Objectives
Soul Harvesting
The Hall of Souls captures, extracts, and stores souls on a massive scale.
- Its black chains can pierce victims, forcibly draw out their Soul Bodies, and swallow them 351.
- It targets powerful alchemists because alchemists generally possess strong Soul Power; this brought it into repeated conflict with the Pill Tower 403.
- Human Hall contained innumerable imprisoned souls, including souls forcibly taken after their owners were slaughtered 553.
- In the Chaotic Star Sea campaign, its forces exterminated the region’s inhabitants and captured seven million souls 662.
- During its war with the Heaven and Earth Alliance, it massacred cities while attempting to frame the alliance for the atrocities 658 659.
Soul Origin
The organization condenses Soul Origin from harvested souls.
- A Soul Origin cluster found beneath Human Hall was formed from at least one million souls 553.
- The Soul Origin collected from ten destroyed branches had been condensed from several million Soul Bodies 555.
- Flowing Cloud states that the Hall of Souls was gathering souls both to help Nihility Devouring Flame attain an Emperor Realm soul and to establish a super formation covering the Central Plains 553.
Bases and Defenses
- Branch halls are marked by Black Grand Halls, black chains, soul mist, and imprisoned Soul Bodies 551 553.
- Human Hall existed inside a sealed spatial region of black earth, broken skeletons, and a central Black Grand Hall 551.
- The Hall of Souls uses Spatial Jade Slips to summon reinforcements, including Soul Clan Dou Sheng experts 649.
History
Early conflict with the Heaven and Earth Alliance
The Hall of Souls entered conflict with Flowing Cloud’s forces after sending Protectors and other operatives into the region. Fearing retaliation against those who had opposed the faction, Flowing Cloud founded the Heaven and Earth Alliance in Bone Melting City and offered its members protection 339 354.
The Hall of Souls subsequently mounted repeated assaults on Bone Melting City. Old Ghost Xing, Old Man Mu Gu, the Black and White Heavenly Venerates, and Nine Heavenly Venerate Mo Yu participated in the early campaign, but the Star Array held and inflicted heavy losses 393 394. The conflict escalated when Blood River and the Half-Saint Gu You led several hundred experts against the alliance 405.
Destruction of Human Hall and branch halls
Flowing Cloud’s group later infiltrated Human Hall after establishing a Spatial Seal to prevent escape or communication 551. Soul Universe Saint, a One-star Dou Sheng stationed within the hall, was killed by Flowing Cloud, while the surviving defenders were routed 552.
After the Black Grand Hall was destroyed, countless captive souls were released and a massive Soul Origin cluster was uncovered 553. Over the next three days, Flowing Cloud’s group destroyed Human Hall and nine additional branches, taking their Soul Origin 554. The released souls exposed the Hall of Souls’ practices throughout the Central Plains, turning widespread fear into public outrage 556.
War in the Northern Region
Hun Miesheng formally moved against the Heaven and Earth Alliance after recovering from earlier setbacks. Believing the alliance depended chiefly on its formations, he chose to target its outlying territories rather than Bone Melting City itself 644.
The Hall of Souls then deployed large armies across the Northern and Central Regions. Its campaigns included city massacres, blockades, and the annihilation of the Chaotic Star Gate and the wider Chaotic Star Sea population 661 662. The Heaven and Earth Alliance, reinforced by the Ancient Void Dragon Clan, broke the Northern Region blockade; the Hall of Souls lost nearly a third of its more than two hundred thousand elite troops in three days and withdrew 667.
Peak of Demise and later defeats
The Hall of Souls later assembled another army to confront the Heaven and Earth Alliance at the Peak of Demise. Rather than begin a full-scale battle, Hun Miesheng proposed three death matches, with two victories deciding the dispute 743 745. The confrontation ended with Hun Miesheng’s defeat and escape, further elevating the Heaven and Earth Alliance’s standing 758.
After Flowing Cloud emerged from the Demonic Flame Space, he destroyed another Hall of Souls branch on the Demonic Flame Plains, killed the Two-star Dou Sheng Saint Soul Zong, and left Black Peak Venerable alive to spread news of the attack 732 733.

Trivia
- The Hall of Souls’ signature black mist and chains are repeatedly associated with captured souls and Soul Bodies 351 551.
- At its height, the faction’s mid-level expert base was considered unmatched in the Central Plains; the Pill Tower’s comparable forces were said to be less than one-fifth as numerous 661.
- After the Soul Clan achieved its goal and withdrew support, the Hall of Souls was described as having “completely left the stage” and becoming little more than an ordinary faction 941.
