Background

Hai Bodong was once the renowned Ice Emperor, a Dou Huang and one of the previous generation's Ten Great Experts of the Jia Ma Empire. A solitary, arrogant expert exceptionally proficient in ice-element Dou Qi, he served as the Mite'er Family's Grand Elder. His conflict with Queen Medusa ended with her sealing his cultivation and reducing him to the Dou Ling realm, after which he spent more than twenty years living in seclusion. 30 156

During this period, Hai Bodong operated a map shop in Mo City. His firsthand travels made his maps of the Tagor Desert exceptionally detailed. He also possessed half of a map fragment connected to the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame, having personally divided the original map into two parts. 149 154

Flowing Cloud encounters Hai Bodong in his Mo City map shop while seeking the second half of a Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame map. Hai Bodong refuses every offer, fights Flowing Cloud with his ice techniques, and is ultimately sealed in purple crystal by the Purple Crystal Winged Lion King. 149 150 153

Even while sealed, Hai Bodong reveals that he holds the other half of the fragment map. He identifies himself as the Ice Emperor and bargains for assistance in removing Queen Medusa's seal, offering information about a Heavenly Flame in exchange for Sand Mandara. 154 156

Mite'er Family Grand Elder

After recognizing Flowing Cloud as a Mite'er Family member, Hai Bodong returns to the family and uses his authority to suppress the Elder Council. He defeats Mite'er Huayuan, abolishes the council, and supports Flowing Cloud's appointment as Young Master. 198 199
