Qingtian Police Academy.
Gu Xingzhi appeared high in the air with Chu Junling in his arms.
"Xingzhi, what are we doing here?" Chu Junling asked again.
Gu Xingzhi still gave the same two-word answer: "Change Fate."
Before long, they appeared inside a library in the academy's northern district and sat down at a window-side table in the reading area.
A strange grin hung on Gu Xingzhi's face as his gaze remained fixed on a bookshelf in the eastern section.
Chu Junling looked around, unable to tell what Gu Xingzhi was up to.
A moment later, a woman in the academy uniform entered Gu Xingzhi's field of vision.
When Chu Junling saw the woman's face, she froze.
"She... she looks exactly like me?"
Gu Xingzhi smiled. "Yes. She is you—the you who entered the academy."
"What? Me? Didn't I already Change Fate?" Chu Junling frowned.
"You changed your fate, but not completely. After the realm's rules deviated, they spontaneously recovered, directly causing time-spaces to intersect and another you from a different time-space to appear."
"You mean she's me from another time-space?"
Gu Xingzhi shook his head. "No. To her, you are the her from another time-space."
"Then... doesn't that mean..." Chu Junling's brows furrowed even deeper.
She had thought her fate had already changed, that she had broken free from its control. Yet now, it was truly continuing along its original track.
That meant her future fate had still not changed.
Gu Xingzhi reached out and patted her head. "Don't panic. I'm here. No matter how these martial rules operate, they cannot contend with my methods."
After thinking it over, Chu Junling let out a relieved breath.
"What do we do next?" She raised her head to look at Gu Xingzhi again.
Gu Xingzhi stood up and gave a mysterious smile.
