Just what is Horizontal Training Qi, anyway?
Gu Xingzhi scanned his body in bewilderment. Other than the moonlight lingering around him, there was nothing unusual.
He said I've seen him before... Who is he talking about?
Suddenly, Gu Xingzhi thought of that strange old man fishing by the river.
Could it be him?
At that thought, he hurriedly turned and walked quickly toward the river.
When he reached the riverbank, however, there was no sign of the old man.
"This old man didn't even show up today."
Glancing around, he curled his lip, then turned and began walking forward along the path ahead.
The path was winding and grew narrower the further it went. When he reached the end, weeds grew densely and it was lushly overgrown, yet there were no traces of human activity.
Just as he was about to turn back, the dense grass twitched.
Then came a squeaking sound.
With a swish, an unknown creature with large ears and a plump body lunged out from within, landing fearfully unfazed right in front of Gu Xingzhi.
Its reddish eyes continuously scanned Gu Xingzhi with a look of curiosity.
Gu Xingzhi frowned, about to wave his hand and summon a Moonlight Strike.
Yet this long-eared creature spoke in human language.
"What are you? Why do you look so strange?"
Its voice was light and ethereal, somewhat playful, and undoubtedly belonged to a female.
It continued to size up Gu Xingzhi.
Seeing this, Gu Xingzhi put away his attack, the corners of his mouth curving into a smile as a bit of interest ignited within him.
With a kind and gentle smile, he squatted down and reached out his palm to pet the long-eared
