Background

Liu Yun was a seven-year-old boy living in Revival Village, a refuge of surviving Dian Race members. Because of his mixed heritage, he was bullied by other children. A mysterious voice guided him upstream, where he met his future Master and asked to become stronger. 865 866

His mother, Zi Ying, was the daughter of the Green Race’s Third Elder, Zi Zhen; his father was associated with the Dian Race. After the Green Race destroyed the Dian Race during the Three Clans War, Liu Yun’s parents fled with the surviving Dian Race members into the mountain forest. 867

At the stream source, Liu Yun became the disciple of the elusive Master later revealed to be a Source Clone of Chi Yu. His Master healed his injuries, bestowed an unranked cultivation method and the Liu Yun Sword, and instilled a defining principle: never tolerate those who harm him. 866 942
