Background / History
Primordial Beginning Immortal Venerable founded Heavenly Court approximately 3,879,687 years before the Longevity Heaven invasion. He promoted a sect-based system over bloodline families, believing organized sects would preserve and strengthen humanity against Otherworldly Humans. Heavenly Court was established as the model for this system. 1741 1742
Over time, it became Central Continent’s supreme sect and placed the Ten Great Ancient Sects beneath it. Its members are largely recruited from those sects, but admission requires at least Rank 8 cultivation, profound attainment in one’s path, combat strength, and alignment with Heavenly Court’s values. 957
Heavenly Court’s stated doctrine is to “conform to Heaven’s Will and act on behalf of Heaven.” Its prestige was historically tied to Fate Gu and its claim to defend the Human race. 957 1750
Three Immortal Venerables entered Heavenly Court across its history, while Hong Lian Demon Venerable was cultivated by it. The court’s accumulated grotto-heavens include the immortal apertures of those Venerables and countless Rank 8 Gu Immortals, making it self-sufficient in immortal materials and difficult to gauge from outside. 1071 2333
Organization and Leadership
Heavenly Court’s Rank 8 members are formally equals: major matters are discussed collectively rather than decided by a single immortal. An Immortal Venerable can override this arrangement; otherwise, a Wisdom Dao Gu Immortal commonly manages day-to-day affairs. 1070 1885
- Sky Watching Tower Master — Previous practical leader; his death left Zi Wei Immortal temporarily directing the court. 1070
- Zi Wei Immortal — Wisdom Dao leader during the repair of Sky Watching Tower and Fate Gu; later defected to Demon Venerable You Hun. 1070 1975
- Dragon Duke — Figurehead during Zi Wei Immortal’s administration and principal defender during the Fate War; died after Hong Lian’s scheme succeeded. 1885 1975
- Qin Dingling — Elected temporary leader after the Fate War; led recovery, intelligence gathering, diplomatic outreach, and later emergency defenses. 1975 1991 2342
- Star Lord Immortal Venerable — Later assumed direct control, refined Heavenly Court’s Wisdom Dao marks, stabilized its internal calamities, and directed its broader strategic expansion. 2276 2201
Territory and Foundation
Heavenly Court is a vast grotto-heaven situated within Primeval White Heaven. It has annexed fragments of the Primeval Nine Heavens and is described as their greatest surviving remnant. 2343
Its grotto-heaven contains the merged apertures of three Immortal Venerables and innumerable Rank 8 immortals. Its resources are sufficient for complete internal self-supply, and even its own members do not know how many Rank 8 Gu Immortals remain in slumber. 1071
Immortal Tomb
Most Heavenly Court Gu Immortals use slumber to prolong their limited lifespans. Their Immortal Gu are generally surrendered to the court during slumber, allowing those Gu to be used in defenses, Immortal Gu Houses, or assigned to lower sect members. 957 1722
The Immortal Tomb can awaken generations of Rank 8 experts during crises, as occurred during Longevity Heaven’s invasion. 1719 1742
Palace Complex
The court’s palaces, pavilions, and halls are interconnected Immortal Gu Houses. Most are Rank 6 and specialize in narrow functions, but they can support each other as a unified defensive network or be separated for individual improvement. 1715
| Site / Asset | Function |
|---|---|
| Central Great Hall / Central Palace | Command hub for Heavenly Court’s palace network and treasury; the Central Palace’s destruction severely reduced Zi Wei Immortal’s ability to mobilize defenses. 1715 1719 |
| Central Heaven Gate | Rank 8 Trust Dao Immortal Gu House used to inspect and assess prospective Heavenly Court members. 1715 |
| Nameplate Palace | Trust Dao Immortal Gu House maintaining an intelligence network that reaches across the Five Regions. 1715 |
| Soul Suppression Hall | Rank 8 Immortal Gu House used to imprison You Hun Demon Venerable’s remnant soul. 1442 |
| Sky Watching Tower | Immortal Gu House centered on Fate Gu; rebuilt after its earlier destruction, elevated to Rank 9 while Fate Gu was repaired, and shattered when Fate Gu was destroyed. 1338 1746 1966 |
| Qi Wall | Primordial Beginning Immortal Venerable’s defensive killer move; distinguishes allies from enemies and restricts invaders to routes previously breached by Demon Venerables. 1714 1722 |
| Nine-Nine Consecutive Unending Formation | Ancient defensive formation foreseen by Star Lord Immortal Venerable; Wu Ji Demon Venerable once escaped only after breaking through one hundred component formations. 1733 |
Resources and Methods
Fate Gu and Sky Watching Tower
Heavenly Court possessed the Rank 9 Fate Gu, which allowed Sky Watching Tower to detect individuals who defied fate across the Five Regions, White Heaven, and Black Heaven. The court regarded eliminating such people as part of restoring Fate Gu’s power. 957 1071
- Fate Gu was damaged by Hong Lian Demon Venerable but could not be completely destroyed by him. 1071
- Grandma Sha exhausted her lifespan repairing Sky Watching Tower after the Dream Battlefield. 1338
- During the Fate War, Heavenly Court used the Central Continent Gu Refining Convention’s Success Dao marks to repair Fate Gu. 1719
- Once restored, Sky Watching Tower became a true Rank 9 Immortal Gu House and repeatedly deployed Fate Defeated, forcing Longevity Heaven and other regional forces into retreat. 1746 1960
- Fang Yuan ultimately destroyed Fate Gu, causing Sky Watching Tower to collapse into fragments and breaking the banner central to Heavenly Court’s morale. 1966
Human Dao Heritage
Heavenly Court considers itself humanity’s orthodox Human Dao lineage and holds extensive Human Dao methods accumulated over its history. Dragon Duke regarded these methods as one of his greatest strategic reserves. 1706
Refinement Dao Foundation
Heavenly Court possesses the true inheritances of two of history’s three Refinement Dao supreme grandmasters. Its Refinement Dao foundation is stated to surpass even Lang Ya Sect’s. 1885
- The court operates major Refinement Dao formations and used them to process Success Dao marks and repair Fate Gu. 880 1719
- Its research enabled refinement of Second Aperture Gu from Rank 1 through Rank 5. 1885
Intelligence, Deduction, and Mobility
- Wisdom Dao deduction — Used to locate and pursue threats such as Ying Wu Xie and Fang Yuan. 1070 1071
- Five Regions intelligence network — Maintained through Nameplate Palace and the Ten Great Ancient Sects. 1715
- Star Throw — A long-range deployment killer move used to send a force of Rank 8 immortals against Lang Ya Blessed Land. 1763
- Teleportation formations — Can move groups or individual immortals for reinforcement and healing, though one such formation was later destroyed by Fang Yuan. 1930 1943
Relationships
- Ten Great Ancient Sects — Subordinate Central Continent sects; provide Heavenly Court with candidates and personnel. 957
- Longevity Heaven — Major rival. Its invasion sought to seize Fate Gu and replace Heavenly Court as ruler of the Five Regions. 1719
- Shadow Sect — Mortal enemy; Heavenly Court hunted its members, intervened against its dream-realm operation, and imprisoned You Hun’s remnant soul. 1070 1362 1442
- Fang Yuan — Persistent primary threat after You Hun’s capture; destroyed Fate Gu and repeatedly exploited or infiltrated Heavenly Court. 1405 1966 2032
- Sea of Qi Ancestor — Post-Fate War diplomatic partner recruited by Qin Dingling; Heavenly Court aided him against Qi Jue Demon Venerable and granted him the remaining half of Primordial Beginning’s true inheritance. 2010 2011
- Otherworldly Humans / Two Heavens forces — Historical adversaries of the human race and later targets of Heavenly Court expeditions and defensive campaigns. 1742 1991
- Star Lord Immortal Venerable — Later direct leader and defender; her authority ended internal dissent over leadership. 2202
Story Role / Major Arcs
Rebuilding Sky Watching Tower
After Sky Watching Tower Master’s death, Zi Wei Immortal coordinated Heavenly Court’s response to Shadow Sect, tasked Grandma Sha with rebuilding Sky Watching Tower, and deployed immortals to capture rogue organization members. 1070
Grandma Sha completed the reconstruction at the cost of her lifespan. The restored tower later enabled Heavenly Court’s direct intervention in the Dream Battlefield, where Dragon Duke ordered the execution of all Pure Dream Seeking True Bodies and any Gu Immortals attempting to flee. 1338 1362
Capture of You Hun
Heavenly Court captured You Hun Demon Venerable’s remnant soul and sealed it in Soul Suppression Hall. Zi Wei Immortal failed to extract information from him, but the court publicized the capture with supporting evidence, restoring and magnifying its prestige throughout the Five Regions. 1442
Fate War
Longevity Heaven invaded through weaknesses created by past Demon Venerable attacks, using Calamity Luck Altar to breach Heavenly Court’s palace defenses. Heavenly Court delayed the assault with the Qi Wall, Golden Pearls, movable Immortal Gu Houses, the Refinement Dao Great Array, and awakened tomb immortals. 1714 1715 1719 1722
The court repaired Fate Gu and temporarily turned the war with Fate Defeated. However, Fang Yuan later destroyed Fate Gu, collapsing Sky Watching Tower and devastating Heavenly Court’s spiritual and military foundation. 1746 1966
Post-War Recovery
After the Fate War, Heavenly Court was left in ruins, Dragon Duke was dead, Zi Wei Immortal had defected, and Qin Dingling became temporary leader. The court shifted from its earlier position of overwhelming dominance toward recuperation, alliances, and intelligence work. 1975 2010
It intervened against Qi Jue Demon Venerable, negotiated cooperation with Sea of Qi Ancestor, monitored the Two Heavens Alliance, and sought to contain rival regional forces. 1991 2010 2011
Star Lord Immortal Venerable’s Return
Star Lord Immortal Venerable later stabilized a Heavenly Court ravaged by internal storms, using her Dao Lord authority after refining its Wisdom Dao marks. She subsequently directed operations across the three realms and rejected recruiting the Fang family on the grounds that it would damage public sentiment. 2276 2201
Her attempt to revive Primordial Beginning Immortal Venerable through the Qi Cultivation Fruit failed when the resurrection process exploded due to depleted Air Dao immortal materials. The explosion left Heavenly Court vulnerable, enabling You Hun Demon Venerable to force his way inside. 2338 2342 2343
