Background / History

Flame Emperor is one of Kyushu's recognized Four Emperors and the leader of the Flame Dragon Guild, a top-ten guild. He is considered an Emperor-tier combatant at the peak of Tier 2, though Wind Emperor Feng Luoqing is ranked higher at Tier 1 peak. 13 45 60

Before the events of Phantom Gods, he fought alongside Xiao Wen and Feng Luoqing. After five years apart, he and Wind Emperor recognize Xiao Wen following the latter's summoning of Phantom Beast King Gazelle, restoring their former camaraderie. 44

At the beginning of the game, he led the Flame Dragon Guild from Novice Village No. 010 and pursued first-kill rewards for Lord-class BOSSes. Xiao Wen's defeat of a Level 7 Lord BOSS interrupted his attempt to claim the Crimson Flame King Armor Beast's first kill, drawing his attention to the unknown player. 13

Personality

Flame Emperor is hot-tempered, proud, and direct. He reacts badly to perceived slights, whether Xiao Wen's sudden disappearance during his ambush or the Blood Moon Demon Wolf dismissing him as an “insect.” 42 60 His pride initially makes him unwilling to cooperate against an Emperor-tier BOSS, believing such prey should fall by his own hand. 51

Despite his temper, he is practical when the stakes are high. He accepts Xiao Wen's command during the Nightmare Forest expedition, coordinates effectively with Wind Emperor, and later cooperates with Dragon Emperor in an information exchange. 53 55 186 He also shows concern for Kyushu's future, deliberately giving the newer generation room to compete for guild-ranking honors and warning Xiao Wen about an elite freshman from the Millet Alliance. 134 224
