When the plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport, it was 4:00 PM in America's West Eighth District. The group was yawning from exhaustion. They had caught an early-morning flight and endured a grueling twenty-hour journey. Back home, it was the middle of the night—the perfect time to be fast asleep.

The team was responsible for arranging transportation. Qin Ze and Qin Baobao saw Su Yu off at the high-speed rail station; she had bought her ticket in advance.

Out of habit, Qin Baobao and Qin Ze wore masks and sunglasses. Su Yu did not. Her high heels clicked against the floor, her long straight black hair swaying with every step. She wore conservative, loose-fitting pants beneath a knit sweater. Her face alone was eye-catching enough; if she showed off her figure too, wandering alone in a foreign country would be far too bold.

"Why aren't you flying? Massachusetts Institute of Technology is pretty far from here, isn't it?" Qin Ze asked.

Far was an understatement. They were practically on opposite ends of the country. Los Angeles was in western America, while Massachusetts was in Boston in the northeast.

"You only realized that now? Didn't you ask about my itinerary the whole way here?" Su Yu turned gracefully and shot him a resentful glare. "Who said I was going to Massachusetts?"

"Aren't you visiting a friend?"

"Were all your college classmates locals?" Su Yu glared at him again. "At most, I'd revisit the campus and drop by to see my mother, who never really bothers with me. I don't want to go there."

"Your mom ignores you?" Qin Baobao asked curiously.

"What's it got to do with you?" Su Yu snapped, her face darkening.

"You..."
