Qin Ze made it back to Shanghai City before New Year's Eve. Wang Zijing refused to return to Shanghai City with him, so naturally she would not be coming back with him for the holiday. He had promised his sister that he would come home for the New Year. Wang Zijing also did not want him spending the holiday at the Wang family's home.
