Before long, the blood-red glow in the Man-Fiend King's eyes receded. It stopped moving and returned to its original state.
"What's going on? This Man-Fiend King's intelligence seems to be somewhat abnormal?" Yuan Ming wondered.
Just then, the Man-Fiend King rose and walked toward the blood pool.
Yuan Ming raised an eyebrow and looked at the rune marks surrounding the blood pool. He vaguely felt that something would happen once the Man-Fiend King stepped inside.
But just as the Man-Fiend King was about to cross the rune iron buried in the ground, it suddenly halted.
"Did it discover me?" Yuan Ming was startled.
But Yuan Ming soon realized he had been overthinking it.
The Man-Fiend King seemed to have paused because the bloody color in its eyes had receded once more, as though its intelligence had gone wrong again.
A moment later, however, it stepped over the rune marks and entered the blood pool.
For some reason, the rune marks showed no reaction at all to the Man-Fiend King entering. Perhaps the triggering conditions had not been met, or perhaps they had never been meant for the Man-Fiend King in the first place?
Either way, Yuan Ming had no intention of meddling. He only wanted to hide quietly to one side and wait for the danger to pass.
At that moment, he noticed that the blood water in the pool was churning, far more violently than before. Countless gurgling blood bubbles rose up, completely obscuring the Man-Fiend King's upper body all the way to its neck.
Wisps of white smoke rose around the wound in its chest, spreading the stench of rotting flesh through the air.
A layer of red radiance rose from the entire blood pool, enveloping it within.
