The two Emperor's Guardians were bathed in light, as if they were not guarding the Emperor of the Zhou Kingdom but serving a descended being. Their imposing figures stood unmoving yet humble, highlighting an supreme majesty.
A moment later, the light transformed into streaks of fire, shooting out in all directions. Tiny specks of light then took on the forms of creatures from myriad worlds, drifting and dancing in the air. After emitting joyful, mischievous, and elated cries, they vanished into nothingness.
Qin Luming saw that a considerable number of these light-speck creatures were the various beings from other worlds he had seen in his dreams. There were cats with heads like sunflowers and petals around their necks, rabbits with grass growing on their heads, little girls hiding in watermelons and looking around, raccoons dressed as ninjas, and big-headed babies holding staffs and spell scrolls, chanting incantations, their clothes exploding whenever they cast a spell. There were also tiny fire dragons, no bigger than a finger, striding proudly and breathing fire everywhere. A female catfish in a nurse outfit suddenly gave a little fire dragon an injection, causing the fire dragon to straighten up instantly and shoot out like a rubber band.
They all appeared as small, joyful lives. As Qin Luming watched these light specks vanish, he could finally see clearly the figure standing atop the giant sword of the Sword Bearer after the light had dispersed.
It was a little girl.
Judging by her appearance, she looked a little younger than Zhou Nan.
She wore a divine robe that seemed elegant, luxurious, solemn, and majestic. However, the robe was a bit too large, forcing her to keep her arms raised so her hands could extend out to grip the enormous staff, which was much taller than her and made her feel unbalanced.
Golden light flowed across the divine robe. The cuffs and hem were adorned with intricate golden patterns. Upon closer inspection, blue ripples emanated from the hollowed-out areas, seemingly containing some kind of power.
The staff was as tall as two of her. The shaft appeared to be half a winding branch and half a straight stick. Held in her jade-like hands, it looked ancient and mysterious. Especially the black sphere at the top of the staff, which floated in the air, exuding a terrifying aura that seemed to devour everything.
What attracted Qin Luming the most was her long, straight, silky hair, which cascaded down past her waistline, flowing and dancing in the air. Apart from An Chacha, this was Qin Luming's favorite appearance for long hair.
She was looking around, her expression not entirely serious or composed. Yet, on her exquisite face, which seemed to be bathed in divine radiance at all times, there was an overly indifferent pride. Her cheeks still had a hint of baby fat, but her clear, emotionless eyes made it impossible to mistake her for an ordinary cute girl.
She stood at the pinnacle of the giant sword, looking down upon the entire world, her gaze unfocused... until she finally found Qin Luming.
Her eyes suddenly contracted as her brows furrowed and then relaxed. She adjusted the hem of her skirt with her free hand, and her expression became lively, her arrogance even more pronounced as she looked down with disdain from her lofty position.
"Contract." She held a stack of papers. Releasing them, the papers she called "contracts" sprouted wings and began to circle in the air.
The "contracts" seemed joyful, and growing wings made them appear even more lively, emitting the rustling sound of paper being blown by the wind as they flew and circled.
She frowned, raised her hand, and a divine light descended from the sky, instantly piercing the "contracts." The "contracts" let out a scream... a sound like paper being blown by the wind, but more intense. The "contracts" could no longer circle and dance, emitting the smell of burning paper, and fell in front of Qin Luming.
Qin Luming picked them up. His heart was pounding with excitement, but he was momentarily stunned when he saw the "contracts."
This stack of papers was none other than the novel contract he had sent out! Besides his own signature, there was now another name: Fairy Jiang.
Qin Luming looked at the name and suddenly looked up. The speed of this action made him feel the blood rushing to his head accelerate, causing him a dizzy spell... This name was the name of the female protagonist in the novel he had written!
"Who are you?"
At this moment, Zhou Nan arrived. She tried to control the two Emperor's Guardians but found their connection intermittent. Their core systems, which maintained their consciousness and loyalty to the Zhou Kingdom, had been invaded by a more powerful and chaotic will, rendering them chaotic and unable to execute Zhou Nan's Imperial Edict Arts.
Imperial Edict Arts were a branch of divine arts that, in the world of the Zhou Kingdom, only those with the rank of Emperor could use. Besides Zhou Nan, only the Regent could use them.
Generally, the Emperor could use all Imperial Edict Arts, while the Regent could only use some. If the effects of the Imperial Edict Arts used by the Regent interfered with or conflicted with those used by the Emperor, the Regent's Imperial Edict Arts would become invalid.
This series of Imperial Edict Arts could be said to be a direct manifestation of the Emperor's supreme authority, capable of commanding the entire Zhou Kingdom's power. They exercised the collective will of the entire Zhou Kingdom and were the foundation of the Emperor's legitimacy and rank.
The fact that the other party could interfere with the Imperial Edicts carrying the Zhou Kingdom's will meant that the other party possessed the power to threaten the entire Zhou Kingdom, capable of confronting the entire Zhou Kingdom single-handedly, otherwise, they could not have achieved this.
In Zhou Nan's memory, the Regent had mentioned during lectures that His Majesty the Emperor was the embodiment of the entire Zhou Kingdom, wielding the spirit, power, and national will accumulated over tens of thousands of years. He was immensely powerful.
The Zhou Kingdom was invincible in the world, sweeping across the universe and ruling all domains. The power accumulated by such an empire made His Majesty the Emperor an invincible being.
Only the elusive and unattainable legendary kingdom: the Divine Kingdom, had the capital to surpass the Zhou Kingdom.
"King of the Divine Kingdom, Aizen King."
The beautiful girl, like the light she had manifested, looked at Zhou Nan with supreme authority and a cold expression.
"Never heard of it."
The girl, who called herself Aizen King, frowned. "And who are you?"
"The Emperor of the Zhou Kingdom, Zhou Taoyao." Zhou Nan stood ready. Although she had never heard of the other party's name, the other party's strength was clearly something Zhou Nan had never encountered before. Zhou Nan stated her personal name.
Zhou Nan was the name used as Emperor, and before becoming Emperor, Zhou Nan's name was Zhou Taoyao, meaning a girl like the peach blossoms in the south of the Zhou Kingdom, radiant and beautiful.
As soon as Zhou Nan finished speaking, she noticed that the other party seemed not to have heard her self-introduction at all. Feeling a slight anger and knowing that a confrontation was inevitable today, a ball of black flame enveloped her body.
The flame was like the source of all freezing in a cold world, emitting a chill that could freeze the air. A hand extended from the flame, and the black flames instantly surged, shooting into the sky like fireworks. In the place where Zhou Nan had stood, the Emperor, clad in black armor and wielding a great hammer, stood ready.
Aizen King said nothing, merely raising her staff.
A full moon, easily reminiscent of the scene "the bright moon rises above the sea," ascended above the horizon. It became a sacred backdrop behind Aizen King, but its light instantly dimmed, its clear radiance fading, burning with intense flames, and the surrounding heat plasma and magnetic fields distorted space itself.
Aizen King casually reached out and plucked the moon, which had been far away on the horizon, from the sky. It instantly appeared behind her, its clear radiance once again exuding the cold purity of the Moon Palace, making her figure even more sacred and ethereal.
The sun above her head then erupted with countless weak light beams, which shot towards Zhou Nan!
Although these light beams were weak, their temperature was extremely high, as if they were truly extracted from the sun's outermost atmosphere, the corona, and turned into weapons. These bluish-white light beams, seemingly sparse, fully ionized plasma, flew towards Zhou Nan at extremely high temperatures, causing visible magnetic storms. Everything within sight was distorted, and everything was exploding.
The dense explosions were no different from the bombardment caused by dropping hundreds or thousands of cluster bombs. In Qin Luming's view, there were only countless rumbling sounds and bursts of ash clouds. It was probably like someone setting off a string of ten thousand firecrackers in front of an ant.
"Zhou Kingdom, I remember now! The Zhou Kingdom is the one that, after its imperial territory could no longer expand, prepared to attack the Divine Kingdom!"
"Why do people always want to attack the Divine Kingdom!"
"There is a place called the Sky Cloud Divine Realm, and a woman named Lin Jiangxian built a giant ship to attack the Divine Kingdom!"
"This world... there's a woman named An Nanxiu, she's also a lunatic!"
"You arrogant fools, I'm going to kill you all first!"
Aizen King's voice carried the anger of someone provoked and unable to remain calm. She left the peak of the giant sword and rose into the air. The sun behind her suddenly erupted again with the violent impact of a coronal mass ejection solar storm. Aizen King glanced back and was immediately hit in the lower back by the impact, falling from the sky.
Qin Luming quickly extended his right hand, cast a barrier, and leaped forward to catch Aizen King as she fell from the sky, holding her in his arms.
She seemed to have fainted. Her long eyelashes intertwined, and her beautiful little face exuded a serene beauty, instantly reminding Qin Luming of the image of a girl embodying all the cuteness and beauty in the world that he had described in his novel.
Qin Luming hugged her and ran. He didn't know what had happened to the seemingly incredibly powerful Aizen King, but he couldn't be sure that Zhou Nan was dead.
