Ability sharing meant that as long as his Body Division learned all kinds of magical spells in the Harry Potter world, his original body in the Marvel Universe could use them as well.
Even though he had no wand in the Marvel Universe, that was not a problem.
As far as he knew, not everyone in the Harry Potter world used wands to cast spells. Advanced wizards could cast wandlessly, while wizards in Africa had always used traditional Gesture Casting.
It was simply that wands were faster and more effective, which was why most wizards chose to cast with them.
Or perhaps later, he could learn to make wands himself. There were plenty of objects with special energy in the Marvel Universe, so he might be able to find suitable wand materials.
The magic of the Harry Potter world was not particularly destructive, but it was incredibly versatile. Some spells even seemed to touch upon rules of a very high level.
For one thing, if he could learn Apparition, then in the Marvel Universe, he could at least escape from most enemies if he could not defeat them.
"But before that, I need to figure out how to reasonably kill that Dark Wizard!"
If George from his previous life had been asked to kill someone, he truly would not have dared.
In his previous life, he had merely been a Corporate Slave. Forget killing people—he had never even killed a chicken. Whenever he bought groceries at the supermarket, he only bought chickens that had already been cleaned and plucked.
Yet in this life, after merely three months, he had already grown used to it.
Because over the past three months, he had killed twelve people in actual combat.
The laboratory did not keep useless people. As a mutant being trained to become an assassin, aside from normal ability practice, he had to learn how to kill.
And the fastest method was actual combat.
He had no choice. If he did not kill during combat, then he would be killed.
That was also one of the reasons he was so desperate to escape the laboratory.
He was no great saint, but he had his own bottom line and did not like slaughtering innocents.
In truth, he could choose to report the Dark Wizard. At this point in time, if he reported the Dark Wizard to the Ministry of Magic, there was a good chance it would work.
He happened to live with the Dark Wizard in Knockturn Alley, making it easy to get in touch with an Auror.
Dora had not dared to do that because he had grown up under the Dark Wizard's torment. His fear of the Dark Wizard had been carved into his bones; he would rather kill himself than resist.
But that could leave trouble behind.
If the Aurors failed to act in time, the Dark Wizard might have a chance to flee with his money and perhaps retaliate against him.
But if he could kill the Dark Wizard without leaving any traces, he could not only eliminate future trouble but also inherit all the Dark Wizard's assets.
From Dora's memories, he knew that the Dark Wizard had long since lost all his family. Once the Dark Wizard died, he, the adopted son, would be the sole heir.
Besides, it was not as though he had no confidence.
First, the Dark Wizard was completely defenseless against him.
In the Dark Wizard's eyes, Dora was a timid, weak child without even a wand, someone who had never learned any spells.
Second, he had experience using his ability to control blades and kill ordinary mercenaries one-on-one.
When caught off guard by a sneak attack, a wizard's reaction speed would not be much faster than an ordinary person's. At most, their physique was special, making them harder to kill.
Finally, since he was not using magic and had no wand, there was little chance of Aurors discovering him afterward.
Of course, such things were hard to predict, and failure was still possible.
But fortune was found in danger. If he pulled this off, he would not only have a house in this world, but would also gain considerable wealth—enough to let him focus on researching and learning magic in the early stages.
As far as he knew, the Dark Wizard had made a great deal of money selling all kinds of prohibited Potions over the years.
"You woke up half an hour late today. Do you want me to use Transfiguration to turn you into a rat again and hang you over a candle to roast?"
Just as George was thinking, the door to the room was suddenly pulled open. A bald old man in black wizard robes stared at George with snake-like, icy eyes.
"Sorry, Mr. Merton. I'll come right away."
Imitating Dora's usual terrified manner, George hurriedly got up and dressed.
The bald old wizard narrowed his eyes and said:
"Little Dora, rest assured. Although I helped you decline Hogwarts' admission notice, as long as you serve me well as you did before, I will teach you some powerful magic. It will be no worse than going to Hogwarts."
"Powerful magic? It's probably just magic for cleaning and cooking."
George muttered inwardly, though he kept an obedient expression on the surface.
When he stepped out of the cramped room, the sun had just risen. It was probably around six-thirty in the morning.
"It's nighttime in Marvel and daytime here. That's actually pretty convenient."
Controlling two bodies at the same time still felt somewhat strange to him. One sleeping at night while the other acted during the day was just right for him to get used to it first.
After leaving the cramped room beneath the staircase, he followed Dora's memories and began preparing breakfast for the old wizard, cleaning the shop, standing at the entrance to solicit customers, and so on.
The Potions shop in Knockturn Alley had few normal customers. Normal wizards would not come to Knockturn Alley to buy Potions; there were legitimate Potions shops over in Diagon Alley.
Most of those who came here to buy Potions were Dark Wizards, or wizards who did not strictly obey the Ministry of Magic's laws.
The Ministry of Magic generally turned a blind eye to such behavior.
Almost every wizard knew what kind of people were in Knockturn Alley. How could the Ministry of Magic not know?
In George's view, this was perfectly normal.
Rather than let Dark Wizards do whatever they wanted in secret, it was better to leave a Knockturn Alley for them.
That way, if something happened, there would at least be clues to follow.
And many upper-class wizards in the wizarding world also needed a place like Knockturn Alley to exist.
Lucius Malfoy, a wizard of high standing in the wizarding world, would occasionally sell prohibited Potions and magical items he had made here for money.
And so, around four in the afternoon, George finally found a suitable chance to act.
"I'm brewing a Frenzy Potion. Close the shop for now and guard the door. Don't let anyone disturb me, or I'll make you wish you were dead!"
The old wizard carefully took precious magical herbs from several boxes and shot George a vicious glare.
George immediately lowered his head, trembling as he replied:
"Yes, yes. I definitely won't let anyone disturb you."
The old wizard's words were not an empty threat.
Previously, Dora had carelessly allowed a customer to disturb the old wizard while he was brewing Potions, causing the Potion to fail. The old wizard had tormented him with Dark Magic all night, and he had nearly not survived.
But this was also an excellent opportunity for George to kill the old wizard.
From Dora's memories, he knew that the Frenzy Potion was an advanced Potion. Once consumed, it would throw a person's mind into chaos and turn them into a madman.
That made it quite valuable.
But brewing this Potion was extremely difficult, and the process was dangerous as well.
If handled improperly, it could easily explode, injuring or even killing the wizard.
In fact, Potion brewing, especially advanced Potion brewing, had never been safe. Almost every year, wizards died accidentally while brewing Potions.
That was one reason advanced Potions were expensive in the wizarding world, while truly skilled Potioneers were rare.
Seeing the old wizard enter the small hut in the backyard dedicated to brewing Potions, George immediately closed the shop's front door. Then he quietly made his way outside the window beside the hut and began peeking inside.
The old wizard stood before his brewing equipment, taking out Arriotte, Poison Tentacle, Lacewing Flies, Two-headed Snake Gallbladder, and other herbs. He began processing them one by one before placing them into a cauldron to brew.
The old wizard had never taught Dora any magic, but in order to let him serve customers better, he had taught him quite a bit of Herbology and Potions knowledge.
Thus, according to Dora's memories, George knew that the brewing stage was when wizards were most likely to run into trouble.
At that point, a wizard not only had to cast the appropriate spell with complete focus, but also continuously channel magical power to balance the Potion.
"Explode!"
After enduring for a full hour, George saw that the old wizard had finally reached the stage of brewing the Potion. He immediately activated his ability, causing the candlestick on the table to topple over and knock over the cauldron that was brewing.
The paste-like Potion immediately spilled across the table, mixing with the unused herbs still lying there.
"Not good!"
The old wizard hurriedly stopped the brewing process, cold sweat instantly appearing on his forehead.
He wanted to cast a defensive spell, but just as he raised his wand, the paste-like Potion exploded with a bang.
The old wizard, who took the blast head-on, was sent flying. He first slammed hard into the hut's wall, then fell to the ground and coughed up several mouthfuls of blood.
"A wizard's body really is much stronger than an ordinary person's."
Seeing that the seventy- or eighty-year-old wizard had been blown up like that and was still alive, George could not help sighing inwardly.
If it had been an ordinary person, even a young, healthy adult would probably have been finished after taking a hit like that.
This was no ordinary explosion. It was the explosion of a failed Potion brewing process, mixed with magical backlash and a surge of magical power. It was far from as simple as it appeared.
"Then let me give you something even harsher!"
At that moment, veins bulged on George's forehead as he unleashed all his power on the chandelier above the hut.
After gaining a Wizard bloodline, he discovered that his mutant ability seemed to have improved considerably as well. Previously, he could only control around ten pounds, but now, at full strength, he could manage at least fifty pounds.
If he developed it completely in the future, he would surely surpass the original limit of one hundred pounds.
The chandelier, already swaying dangerously from the explosion, instantly fell from the ceiling under George's full control and stabbed toward the old wizard's face before he could react.
"Ah!"
A scream rang out. Under George's power, the chandelier pierced straight through the old wizard's eye and plunged into his brain.
With a normal wizard's physique, even if they suffered Body Division—losing an arm or leg, for example—as long as they did not die immediately, they could still be saved with healing magic and Potions. Their arms and legs could even be fully reattached.
But if their brain was directly pierced like this, then aside from beings on Voldemort's level, few ordinary wizards could survive.
