The King of Grinds About to Be Born
Was George's body in this world considered that of a genius?
Of course not. Whether in memory or comprehension, it was actually quite average.
By contrast, his main body in the Marvel Universe had inherited Professor X's genes, so in terms of memory and comprehension, it really could be counted as genius-level.
If that had been all, he naturally would not have had the confidence to become the most outstanding, most gifted student in all of Hogwarts history.
His confidence mainly came from two points.
First, he did not have only one brain. His will was singular, but now that he could skillfully operate two bodies, it was effectively equivalent to running two brains at the same time for memory, analysis, and comprehension.
For example, when his avatar in the Harry Potter world saw a math problem, if he only used the avatar to calculate it, he might need twenty seconds to work it out mentally.
But if he also woke his main body in the main world and had it join the calculation, with two brains running together, he might be able to produce the result in under ten seconds.
By the same principle, when he studied and learned a spell, two brains learning together were much stronger than one. At that point, he was already comparable to some top-tier geniuses.
For this reason, he had even specially adjusted the schedule of his main body in the main world. In the future, while his avatar attended classes during the day, his main body would also serve as a second brain at night in the Marvel Universe, helping improve learning efficiency, then catch up on sleep during the day.
Second, in the few days before school started, he had done one more thing.
That was to use the supercomputer in the basement of Mutant Academy to enter into the computer all the books and textbooks he had read so far in the Harry Potter world.
Later on, he did not plan to let go of any knowledge points from classes or any books in the school library either.
Running two brains together had turned him into a top-tier genius, but it still did not make him capable of photographic memory.
Forget him—even those top wizards and legendary wizards in the wizarding world could not possibly remember every single word in every book they had ever read.
But now things were different. All the content had been entered into the supercomputer. As long as he searched for a keyword, the relevant information could immediately be brought up.
As for security, never mind that the supercomputer existed independently to begin with and was not connected to the internet. Even if the information really were leaked, without a Wizard bloodline, it could not be used. Normal people would only think those magic books were complete nonsense.
So in the classes to come, when facing any teacher's questions, if he could not remember clearly, he could use the supercomputer to search and quickly obtain the answer, thereby getting all the points.
In exams, anything involving theoretical knowledge would be no different from an open-book test to him.
Over the next seven years, he was bound to be among the best students in the school.
As for why he was doing this?
Of course it was to obtain more resources and better magic. Only by being outstanding enough could he gain more privileges.
If Hermione had not been outstanding enough, how could she have obtained a Time-Turner?
If Voldemort had not been outstanding enough, how could he have earned the worship of so many wizards, the favor of teachers, and learned so much powerful Dark Magic?
So he had to be outstanding too, outstanding in every respect.
Even if this might make Dumbledore feel that he resembled Voldemort, it did not matter.
With Dumbledore's personality, as long as he did not commit any crimes, even if he resembled Voldemort, Dumbledore would at most be wary and keep a closer watch on him. He would not kill him in the cradle ahead of time.
Besides, if one were talking about resembling Voldemort, among Slytherin's top students, how many did not resemble Voldemort?
"How do you think they can accurately sort us into the right house?
"It's not going to be through some kind of test, is it? Other than reading a lot of Magical History, I haven't read anything else."
Colin's expression showed a faint trace of unease.
Young wizards born into Muggle families basically had no foundation in magic. If they tested that, he really did not know anything.
"Ron told me it's a very scary test, but I don't believe him. How could the school do something dangerous to students?
"If it really were, I don't think Ron could possibly have passed the test."
Ginny looked as if she did not care what kind of test it was. She considered herself much stronger than that timid older brother of hers, Ron.
Luna still had that dreamy, drifting look about her.
"Daddy never told me exactly how the Sorting works, but he did say the whole process is very simple, and that we'll be sorted into the house best suited to us. There's no need to worry."
"Oh, is that so? That's good. Which house do you all want to go to?"
Colin immediately let out a sigh of relief when he heard that, then grew somewhat excited again.
"I want to go to Gryffindor. Harry Potter is in Gryffindor, and I heard the greatest wizard, Dumbledore, also came from Gryffindor."
"I want to go to Gryffindor too. All my brothers are in Gryffindor."
Ginny replied with her face slightly red.
In truth, the more important reason was that her favorite person, Harry Potter, was in Gryffindor.
"Any is fine."
Luna and George said at the same time.
"Ah!!!"
Just then, a scream suddenly came from the little room. It turned out that a group of ghosts had passed through the wall and appeared there, startling the young wizards.
Those ghosts laughed and joked as they appraised the young wizards. After seeing Professor McGonagall appear, they scattered with a whoosh and vanished.
"Now, form a single file and follow me."
Professor McGonagall said this with a stern expression, then led the young wizards out of the hut and toward the Great Hall on the other side of the hall.
"It really is magnificent."
As the line entered the Great Hall, George's eyes lit up.
The first things that came into view were the thousands upon thousands of magical candles floating in midair, followed by the breathtaking illusion of a starry sky spread across the ceiling by magic.
Below were four long tables, each representing one House, and each was filled with wizards from six different years.
On the tables were gleaming golden plates and goblets.
On the platform directly opposite stood another long table, where the school's teachers were seated.
The oldest and most eye-catching figure in the middle should be Dumbledore, with Flitwick, Sprout, Lockhart, and the others seated on either side.
However, he did not see Slytherin's Head of House, Professor Snape.
After thinking back carefully, he remembered that at this moment, that professor should be patrolling the castle, trying to catch Harry and Ron, who had already made the news.
Because Dobby, the Malfoy family's House-elf, was worried that Harry would encounter danger from Voldemort's diary if he came to Hogwarts this year, he had sealed off the entrance when Harry and Ron tried to enter Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
The two of them missed the Hogwarts Express and had no choice but to secretly drive the Magic Car that Arthur had illegally modified to Hogwarts.
But because Ron was not skilled at driving, he had forgotten to turn on the invisibility when they first took off, causing quite a few Muggles to witness the miraculous sight of a car flying through the air. The incident had even made it into the Daily Prophet.
At this very moment, the two of them had probably already reached the school; they had simply failed to make it in time for the Sorting Ceremony.
He turned his head and looked around at the windows of the Great Hall. Sure enough, at one of the windows, he saw two boys poking their heads in to look, but they were quickly dragged back out by a pair of large hands.
"Poor little guys. Two seconds of silence for you!"
Harry and Ron had been caught red-handed by Snape, so things were probably bound to go badly for them next.
Because Lily was Harry's mother, Snape would protect Harry even at the cost of his own life.
But also because James was Harry's father, Snape genuinely hated Harry from the bottom of his heart.
