After reading the Despair Witch's memories, George shook his head.

His previous guess had been basically correct. The royal family had indeed collaborated with the Witch Cult.

The purpose of creating this massive fog had been to complete a ritual, cover up the fact of human trafficking, and distract the churches.

And they had not only worked with the Witch Cult, but with the Aurora Society as well.

Afterward, the Aurora Society was willing to take all the blame for the Backlund fog incident, drawing the churches' fury away from the royal family and the Witch Cult. In any case, they were not afraid of being hunted by the churches.

They had always been the churches' greatest enemy.

But the condition was that the royal family had to help them bring about the descent of the True Creator.

They had already selected a vessel for the True Creator, and it was someone George knew.

It was Lan'erwusi, the swindler who had cheated his parents out of their money, then been influenced by Ins.Zangwill into getting his eldest cousin pregnant and becoming the vessel for the True Creator's descent.

Now, he was suffering the consequences of his own actions. He had been forcibly imprisoned in the dock district by the Aurora Society's Beyonders, waiting to be favored by the True Creator.

"Hand her over to the church. Not only will I get the Sequence Four Potion now, but I'll also get clues about the later Potions."

Although the Church of the Dark Goddess did not possess the later Potion formulas of the Diviner pathway, they did have related clues.

Naturally, though, George would need to exchange something more valuable for those clues.
