The Sudden War (Second Update)

Just as George was considering whether jumping to the Error Pathway or the Door Pathway would save more time, he suddenly raised his head.

"Has the war begun?"

Piercing air-raid sirens echoed throughout Backlund as airships painted dark brown rapidly approached.

The airships bore red, white, and yellow tricolor insignias with diagonal stripes—the flag of Forsak.

The airships entered through Backlund's North Borough, and the moment they crossed in, they came under attack from the Church of the Lord of Storms' Beyonders.

Countless enormous wind blades and bolts of lightning flew densely toward the airships, seeking to shoot them all down.

Unfortunately, the high-sequence powerhouses aboard the airships had been prepared. An invisible defensive barrier blocked every attack.

At the same time, the airships' cannon ports, machine-gun ports, and bombing hatches opened one after another, aiming downward.

A torrent of cannonballs and bullets immediately rained down upon the still-bewildered civilians below.

Although the Beyonders of the Church of the Lord of Storms controlled the wind to deflect quite a few, many cannonballs still broke through the defenses.

If those cannonballs landed, the North Borough would instantly become a living hell. No one knew how many people would lose their fathers, husbands, wives, and children tonight.

"Time—Stop!"

At that moment, a resonant voice rang out above Backlund's North Borough, and the cannonballs instantly froze in midair.

The civilians below widened their eyes at the same time, pointing excitedly into the sky.
