Everyone who had watched Naruto knew Tsunade's story.
During the Second Shinobi World War, she proposed building a Medical Ninja system. Of all the Jonin, only Dan Katō supported her proposal, and Tsunade developed feelings for him. The two naturally became lovers.
Then, just as the war had begun, Nawaki died.
After that, Dan died too.
Even more tragically, both Dan Katō and Nawaki died right in front of Tsunade. Though she was skilled in Medical Ninjutsu, she could do nothing.
From then on, Tsunade developed hemophobia. Not only did she lose eighty percent of her strength, she could no longer even hold the scalpel she had once loved.
"Tell me, am I cursed?" Tsunade laughed bitterly. "My grandfather and grandmother are gone. My father and mother are gone too. Even my lover and my younger brother died right before my eyes."
Many people believed that Dan and Nawaki's deaths had been arranged by Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo.
The reason was simple: one had Tsunade as his lover, and the other had Tsunade as his sister.
As long as they earned some merits on the battlefield and gained the support of the Sannin, the Hokage Position would practically be secured.
So they could only die.
In a sense, this really was related to Tsunade. Not only was she powerful and prestigious herself, but Orochimaru and Jiraiya stood behind her as well. Her influence was simply too great.
It was almost equivalent to saying that whoever Tsunade supported would become Hokage.
But that was the same as blaming the victim. It was twisted logic.
Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo were the ones who had made a move, so the fault naturally lay with the two of them. Tsunade had done nothing wrong.
