History
The Arlong Pirates ruled the Konomi Islands for roughly ten years. According to a local shop assistant, they killed the ruling Count Konomi and his family; she says that, despite the pirates’ violence, islanders’ living standards rose after the previous rulers were removed 266.
After another group of pirates drove Arlong’s crew away, Marines from a nearby branch searched the ruins of Arlong Park. A Jian told Ning Yuan that the money there was the villagers’ ransom money, which the departing pirates had promised to leave behind 254. Nami had left home to steal treasure for Cocoyasi’s sake and believed she had left that money for its people 289 308.
Ning Yuan stayed in the village for one night. During that visit, he killed A Jian, the village police officer; Ning Yuan observed that the gathered villagers reacted with shock and then excitement rather than anger. He and Nojiko subsequently left for Loguetown, taking their houses and orange groves into Ning Yuan’s Origin Space 261 262 308.
