Background / History
The Zhu Family built its position in Haori City through alchemy. Its wealth exceeded that of the other three Great Powers, and its members refined more than ninety percent of the city's medicinal pills. Its combat strength, however, ranked last among the four. Nearly every family member was an alchemist and possessed the inherited Netherfire Ghost Spider martial soul 439.
After Hu Haoran killed a Zhu Family representative in public, the family's leaders debated retaliation. Zhu Tianguang urged an immediate strike, while Zhu Zhihui and family head Zhu Tianming warned against acting without understanding the new city lord's strength 432.
The dispute escalated over medicinal herbs. Zhu Family retainers repeatedly robbed shipments bound for Hu Haoran's Spirit Medicine Hall, though Tai Feng and Meng Liang kept and sold the stolen herbs for their own profit. Hu Haoran captured the retainers, turned them into informants, and used their intelligence to intercept a Zhu Family shipment carrying a fifty-thousand-year-old Void Lotus 439 445 454. His forces later ransacked Zhu Pill Pavilion. Zhu Xiaoxiao assessed the loss at approximately 1.3 billion Gold Soul Coins, including pills, ingredients, equipment, and other items—more than ten years of family income 459.
Hu Haoran subsequently captured or won over the family's senior fighters one by one. His agents used the estate's own defensive system to seal it during the final operation. Zhu Tianguang fought his elder brother Zhu Tianming, while other family members surrendered or were captured alive. Hu Haoran subdued the leadership through the Prison God Hall Interface, completing his objective without destroying the family 509 513 514 516 517.

- The Zhu Family agreed to supply the City Lord's Manor and Hualei Pavilion. Its disciples were ordered to join City Guard training, while the family's alchemy pavilion was opened to ordinary residents with free services 517 518.
- Hu Haoran promised cultivation support to members at bottlenecks. By Chapter 595, Zhu Tianming and Zhu Tianguang had both reached Title Douluo 517 595.
- The alliance made the family a target. The Blood Sand Gang and Berserk Gang attacked its herb caravans, encroached on its territory, and launched an assault that Hong Zuifeng intervened to stop 528.
