A standard Soul Ring is obtained by killing a Soul Beast and absorbing the ring it leaves behind. Soul Masters depend on such rings for advancement, though the practice contributes to the declining number of Soul Beasts. 286

Soul Spirits

A Soul Spirit is created by integrating a Soul Beast's soul into a Soul Ring, allowing the beast's consciousness to remain and assist its host in battle. 235
