Chapter 44 [Mother God's Bladder]--Liszt Moon
Ashley observed the examinee before her.
He looked quite presentable, not like Arthur who was still barely human.
At least his attire had taste.
A custom-made purple tie from the Imperial Capital's 'Fei Li' Alchemist Tailor Shop, a top-tier Centurion brand tailcoat, every button fastened neatly, revealing a snow-duck-feather lining at the collar, paired with pure white trousers, and a rather vintage top hat.
[Moonlight of the Goddess]--this was his God-Bestowed Title.
His demeanor also possessed a gentlemanly grace. He slowly removed his top hat, placed his left hand over his chest, bowed slightly towards Ashley, and gave an elegant salute, "Beautiful lady, it is my honor to dance with you."
Although this person was also a barbarian from the Borderlands, he at least understood etiquette and spoke like a civilized person.
He wouldn't be as perverted as the previous guy, right?
Liszt's refined appearance somewhat put Ashley at ease.
She had checked him all over and found nothing unusual. According to the revised authorization form, Liszt couldn't strip and fight like Arthur.
Even though she hadn't figured out the strategy behind Liszt's chosen spellbook, Ashley was confident that in actual combat, she could wield the same magic with greater precision and achieve better results.
In a pure magical duel, Ashley wouldn't lose to anyone.
This was the confidence of a magic prodigy.
"Sign the authorization."
After confirming everything was foolproof, Ashley said softly.
Ashley ignored Liszt's bow and did not return the gesture. There were already plenty of Borderlanders who fawned over her every month; she never paid them any mind.
Ashley also noticed that Liszt's shoulders were trembling slightly when he bowed.
Was it due to nervousness and fear?
Heh. Ashley scoffed disdainfully in her heart.
No matter how magnificent the attire, it couldn't hide their inherent cowardice and barbarism.
Only the Nobles of Falos were true Nobles.
She picked up the pen and signed her name on the newly drafted authorization contract.
"My apologies for my rudeness."
Liszt wasn't angry. He wore a calm and refined smile and slowly signed his name on the authorization form, "Please bear witness."
"Please bear witness to my resolve."
He said slowly.
What? Ashley hadn't even processed it yet.
Witness what resolve?
The alchemical prosthetics had activated. Light began to weave Ashley's illusory form. The expensive tailcoat, the neat tie, the gold-rimmed glasses, and the top hat were all woven from light. Her appearance also began to transform into Liszt's gentle face.
Everything was normal.
Except for a certain impulse.
A sudden impulse that surged into her heart.
A strong and irresistible impulse.
Originating from the instincts of life, an impulse surging like an undercurrent, an irresistible impulse, an impulse to which she could only submit, like waves crashing against rocks, as if the dam would break the next second, each wave sending ripples outward!
Unavoidable, irresistible.
It was an instinctual impulse.
The next second, Ashley clamped her legs together, her pupils trembling!
Ashley checked her body for any abnormal status effects, but no matter how hard she looked, she couldn't find any curses or negative buffs.
She raised her eyes again in disbelief, looking at the examinee from the Borderlands again, her lips trembling slightly, "You, what did you do? What did you do to your body?"
Liszt pushed his gold-rimmed glasses up. His movements were still elegant, every action filled with gentlemanly grace. However, since his appearance, his movements had been remarkably slow:
"I didn't do anything."
"According to the rules I modified, taking forbidden substances or entering the match with a cursed status are both violations," Ashley bit her lip.
But Liszt hadn't violated any rules. If he had, the Scales of Order would have disqualified him long ago.
Liszt revealed an elegant and aloof smile, as pure and flawless as moonlight.
But his words were like they came from the depths of hell--
"This isn't any cursed status; it's just the most normal physiological condition."
"I also didn't take any 'forbidden' substances. I just drank six bottles of water all at once last night."
--"And it was the purest, cleanest water."
"It's Holy Water I obtained from the church."
He smiled elegantly, his tone imbued with divinity, and spread his arms wide, openly declaring, "It has nothing to do with the foul curse."
Ashley's prediction had long since been predicted by Ansu's prediction.
It was only at this very moment that Ashley finally understood why Liszt's movements were so slow, why his body was trembling slightly.
It was because this perverted guy with glasses had held it in until he came on stage!
He'd held in his yesterday's bowel movement!
"Come and feel the divine power contained within the Holy Water."
Liszt spread his arms sacredly and declared loudly, "This is the might of the Goddess, praise the Goddess."
Holy Water is for exorcising demons, not for holding your pee!
The naked kicking-balls guy insulted the Holy Sword, and now you, the holding-pee glasses guy, are going to insult the Holy Water!
Ashley felt her cheeks flush, her legs clamped tightly together, her hands covering her lower abdomen.
Only by doing so could she maintain her sanity amidst the overwhelming urge.
The audience on the stage, seeing Ashley's unusual state, immediately erupted into a commotion, discussing amongst themselves, trying to figure out what was happening.
The priests on the third floor were also very confused. The start was quite normal, and they hadn't noticed anything unusual. What was going on with Priestess Ashley?
Countless curious gazes fell upon Ashley, making her cheeks flush even more.
If I pee myself in the church hall, my career as a Divine Official will be over.
"Miss Ashley."
Liszt's steady voice rang out.
"After observing your performance, I am actually very disappointed in you. You are not qualified to call yourself a [Noble]."
What is this kid talking about?
Noble blood was Ashley's greatest pride, and now a barbarian from the Borderlands who was holding his pee was saying she wasn't qualified to call herself a [Noble]?
But then Liszt pushed his gold-rimmed glasses up, his gaze as sharp and piercing as a falcon's. Sunlight spilled onto his back, casting a straight shadow from his tall figure:
"What is called a [Noble] is someone who can uphold their noble grace and composure under any circumstances. This pride, this persistence, is precisely the awareness and responsibility of a noble person!"
"As Brother Ansu said, the spirit of persistence—that is the essence of a noble soul!"
"You complained after holding on for just a short while, whereas I held on for an entire night."
"Your Noble Spirit is so weak and unbearable!"
"What I am about to show you is the persistence of the Radiant Holy See!"
Ashley looked at him, her eyes like death, her entire being seeming to turn to ash.
Your Noble Spirit is holding your pee?
Brother Ansu. Brother Ansu?
It's that Ansu again!
It's another idea he came up with!
"Who says I can't persist?"
Ashley slowly straightened her body, gripping her staff tightly as she stared intently at Liszt.
Her gaze was murderous.
"Then, beautiful lady," Liszt slowly raised his staff, "let us begin."
Today was the first battle for [Moonlight of the Goddess], and in the future, an even more resounding title would echo throughout the Imperial Capital.
One of the Three Heroes of the Border, [Mother God's Bladder]—Liszt Moon!
He was sure his father, far away in the Borderlands, would be proud of him.
