Background / History

Sacrifice Incident

Luojia was abducted alongside Ansu Morningstar by cultists of the Mother Goddess of Life. Though frightened by the ritual site and the surrounding remains, she remained defiant and wished to save Ansu as much as herself. 1

Ansu subverted the ritual and sacrificed the cultists instead. Before they parted, he compelled Luojia to swear an oath to the Goddess of Contracts; afterward, she could neither report him nor reveal the details of the Life Cult incident. The sight of Ansu blood-sacrificing twenty-one cultists remained fixed in her memory. 1 3

Believing that Ansu had been led astray by the Mother Goddess of Life, Luojia visited the Morningstar estate a week later. She considered guiding him back to the proper path her duty and responsibility, only for Ansu to turn her attempted intervention into encouragement for joining the Radiant Holy See. 3

Saintesshood and Independence

Luojia awakened as a Saintess and advanced to third-tier, becoming the first person to whom she disclosed the news. Before departing Border City for the General Cathedral, she gave Ansu her carefully compiled Saint Trial notebook, which covered history, scripture, Radiance, and major figures of both the orthodox and heretical churches. 32 232

The Imperial Capital monastery later effectively placed her under house arrest, restricting her movement and access to the Naraku World. Ansu helped her slip out after curfew; it was Luojia's first deliberate breach of the Saintess rules. 104 105

After returning from Farol, the monastery's Head Nun and other nuns attempted to confine her over her recent behavior. Luojia resisted and used magic to defend herself, marking her first open rebellion in the real world. 140

Farol and the “Chaos Deputy” Evaluation

On her first visit to the Naraku World, Luojia applied to become a Restoration Sorcerer because she was skilled in Healing Magic. She initially assumed the work would be respected healing work and joined Ansu in the Restoration Department. 107

Ansu's methods transformed the Restoration Hall into the spark for widespread unrest in Farol. Luojia initially found his frankness liberating and followed along, but regretted her involvement as riots, fires, and inter-racial violence spread through the city. 110 121

Although she spent much of the mission reading and investigating, the Astral evaluation judged her as Ansu's confidante in chaos. She received the title Chaos Deputy, a result she found humiliating and incompatible with her self-image as the Radiant Saintess. 134 135

Though she was raised to endure insults, preserve dignity, and obey strict rules, she gradually becomes less willing to silently accept mistreatment. Ansu's influence pushes her toward direct self-expression, rule-breaking, and defending herself openly. 105 110 140

She is a highly disciplined scholar: within a year in the Imperial Capital, she had read and mastered the Royal Library's books, and her theoretical knowledge had reached or exceeded Saint level. Her confidence in scholarship is genuine, which makes Ansu's misleading forbidden “exam notes” especially embarrassing to her. 235

Despite her principled exterior, Luojia enjoys cakes, keeps close track of money she owes, and can be drawn into Ansu's schemes even while protesting them. She repeatedly resolves to guide him toward normality, yet her own actions earn her the label of Chaos Deputy. 122 135 301
