Background
Tang San entered Nuoding Academy with Full Innate Spirit Power and the apparently ordinary Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul. Yu Xiaogang recognized that this level of innate power was incompatible with common Blue Silver Grass and inferred that Tang San possessed Twin Martial Souls. Tang San accepted Yu Xiaogang as a master to pursue knowledge of Twin Martial Soul cultivation, but withheld his second Martial Soul from him. The Blue Silver Grass was in fact an unawakened Blue Silver Emperor. 62
At Dorm Seven, Tang San defeated Wang Sheng and was named dorm leader, only for Xiao Wu to defeat him and take the position. He intentionally lost their sparring match, beginning a long association with her. Bibi Dong—introduced to him as “Teacher Dong”—also took interest in his talent and offered guidance in obtaining Spirit Rings. 74
By age nine, Tang San had reached Level 22. Hu Liena remained at Nuoding Academy to teach him, and he began calling her “Sister” rather than “Senior Sister.” His father, Tang Hao, later informed him that the Asura God wanted them to travel to the Star Dou Great Forest. 110
Personality
Tang San is calculating, guarded, and strongly driven by the need to control his own future. He joined Yu Xiaogang for potential benefits rather than trust, concealed his second Martial Soul, and repeatedly sought information from the Script System when events diverged from its predictions. 62 180 267
He is fiercely protective of people he considers his own, particularly Xiao Wu and Hu Liena. He intervened against the Orugu Seven Ghosts when Hu Liena was injured, unleashing the Eight Spider Lances and Asura power to force their retreat. 177
His protectiveness is compromised by pragmatism and self-preservation. During the deathmatch with the Orugu Seven Ghosts, he used Zhu Zhuqing as a human shield before surrendering, then presented her death to Dai Mubai as a willing sacrifice. The revelation later damaged his reputation and fractured his bond with Dai Mubai. 188 189 266
Tang San is proud and reacts badly to humiliation or loss of status. He became consumed by the need to defeat Qian Yuxi, publicly challenged him despite the odds, and chose the dangerous path of cultivating the Clear Sky Hammer after repeated setbacks. 305 306 291
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses the Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer, giving him access to two separate Martial Soul paths.
- Blue Silver Emperor — Initially mistaken for ordinary Blue Silver Grass; its true imperial nature was not recognized by Yu Xiaogang. 62
- Blue Silver techniques — Uses binding and control skills including Mother Entanglement, Spider Web Restraint, Blue Silver Cage, and Blue Silver Father-Killing Spear. 264 304
- Clear Sky Hammer — A high-offense weapon Martial Soul that Tang San began cultivating specifically to challenge Spirit Hall. 291
- Compatibility limit — His Clear Sky Hammer could sustain only four Ten-Thousand-Year Spirit Rings; adding more risked fatal backlash from his Twin Martial Souls. 304 305
Purple Chicken Demonic Eye and Hidden Weapons
Tang San practices the Purple Chicken Demonic Eye every morning, using it for enhanced observation and precision. 203
- Detects subtle energy and observes distant targets, including the Orugu Seven Ghosts. 180
- Stores and launches hidden weapons from the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges. 266 304
- His hidden weapons were precisely intercepted by Qian Yuxi’s enhanced arrows during their advanced-competition duel. 304
Eight Spider Lances
Tang San possessed the Eight Spider Lances, an External Spirit Bone that manifested as eight bluish-purple spider legs from his back. 177 185
- Used them to protect Hu Liena and pressure the Orugu Seven Ghosts. 177
- Revealed them in Shrek’s battle against the Orugu Seven Ghosts, enabling him to continue fighting after Xiao Wu was severely injured. 185
- Qian Yuxi later extracted Tang San’s Spirit Bones, and Tang San subsequently acknowledged that he no longer possessed the Eight Spider Lances. 227 291
Millennium Evil Qi
Tang San absorbed Millennium Evil Qi through the Clear Sky Hammer, gaining a rapid increase in Spirit Power and materialized killing intent. 216 217
- Raised him to Level 40 Quasi-Soul Ancestor after his initial absorption. 217
- Could be collected with the Asura God Sword for later use. 217
- Enhanced his attacks but was directly suppressed by Qian Yuxi’s purer divine power. 304
- Carries the danger of divine-power backlash, particularly in conflicts against Light-attribute Spirit Masters. 248
Clear Sky Hammer Techniques
Tang San developed and inherited several techniques associated with the Clear Sky Hammer.
- Disorderly Cloak Hammer Technique — Stacked ninety-nine strikes against Qian Yuxi’s Coronation Barrier, but failed to damage it. 306
- Ring Detonation — Detonates Spirit Rings to produce a massive short-term power increase at the cost of backlash; used to launch Heaven-Shaking Strike against Feng Xiaotian. 319
- Clear Sky Barrier — A defensive Spirit Skill that protected him against Feng Xiaotian’s attack before being shattered by Tornado Wind Blade. 318 319
- Great Sumeru Hammer — Used alongside his Clear Sky Hammer True Body during his clash with the Sword of Destruction and Hundred Ghosts. 333
Asura God Sword
The Asura God Sword is a Super Divine Artifact inherited from Tang Chen. 198 307
- Suppresses the mental influence of Millennium Evil Qi within Tang San. 217
- Allows the use of the Asura Domain, Asura Blood Blade, and Nanook’s Final Cry. 307 308
- Raised Tang San’s combat aura to the Titled Douluo level during his clash with Qian Yuxi’s Scepter of Destruction projection. 307
Sea God Inheritance
The Sea God directed Tang San to retrieve the Heart of the Sea God in order to begin the Sea God inheritance. 248
- Bo Saixi supported Tang San’s search for Spirit Rings and the Heart of the Sea God. 217 226
- Tang San and Tang Hao later retrieved the Heart of Sea Cucumber from Sunset Forest. 286
- Tang San believed the damaged Vast Sea Universe Cover required immense ocean Spirit Power to reactivate. 286
Weishen Manifestation
After the deaths of Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, an unknown force healed Tang San’s injuries and manifested through him as an entity calling itself Weishen. 337
- Its emergence caused Qian Yuxi enough spiritual pain to retreat. 337
- Weishen claimed to be the “creator of this universe,” though its identity and true nature remain unexplained. 337
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Asura God Sword — Super Divine Artifact inherited through Tang Chen. 198 307
- Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges — Storage Spirit Tool used to carry hidden weapons. 266
- Hidden weapons — Includes throwing knives and other concealed projectiles. 304
- Eight Spider Lances — Former External Spirit Bone; later stripped from him. 177 227 291
Relationships
- Tang Hao — Father. Tang Hao supported Tang San’s cultivation, accompanied him in Spirit Beast hunts, and taught him Clear Sky Hammer techniques. 110 291 305
- Yu Xiaogang — Master. Tang San became his disciple to gain access to Twin Martial Soul knowledge, but their relationship deteriorated sharply after Tang San’s actions in the deathmatch. 62 189
- Xiao Wu — Childhood companion, battle partner, and eventual romantic partner. She defeated him for Dorm Seven leadership, and their relationship later developed into mutual love. 74 376
- Hu Liena — Tutor, close companion, and Rakshasa-aligned ally. Tang San protected her during the Orugu conflict, but later used her as a shield against Qian Yuxi’s attack. 110 177 333
- Dai Mubai — Shrek teammate and initially a prospective “good brother.” Their relationship became strained after Dai learned the truth surrounding Zhu Zhuqing’s death. 139 189 266
- Tang Chen — Great-grandfather. Tang Chen’s death left Tang San the Asura God Sword and a Clear Sky Sect secret manual. 189 198

- Qian Yuxi — Principal rival. Their conflict spans the Soutuo deathmatch, the Continental Tournament, and several divine-artifact confrontations. 174 304 333
- Asura God — Divine patron associated with Tang San’s sword, divine sense, and succession path. 181 307
- Sea God Poseidon — Divine patron who instructed Tang San to begin the Sea God inheritance by recovering the Heart of the Sea God. 248
- Script System — A system present in Tang San’s mind since birth that provides future knowledge, though its information repeatedly fails to account for major variables. 74 180 267
