Background / History

Huo Yuhao left the Duke of White Tiger's Mansion as an eleven- or twelve-year-old boy following his mother Huo Yun'er's death. He rejected the Dai name, took his mother's surname, and swore to return one day to destroy the mansion that had humiliated them. 12

After Lu Xueling, Bella, and their companions saved him, Sky Dream Ice Silkworm merged with him in his Spiritual World. Though wary of Lu Xueling's knowledge of his origins, Yuhao chose to follow him, believing that he had nothing left to lose and needed strength to avenge his mother. 16

Lu Xueling arranged for Yuhao to study in Mingde Hall, where Jing Hongchen gave him a personal workspace and additional rare-metal resources. The opportunity, and Jing Hongchen's kindness, convinced Yuhao that leaving the Duke's Mansion had been the right decision. 33

Under Xuan Ziwen's strict instruction, Yuhao mastered forging, shaping, casting, quenching, polishing, and core-array engraving in a month. He became a Level 1 Soul Engineer at age eleven and accepted Lu Xueling's first mission: to kill using a power implanted into his body. 47

The mission brought him back to the Duke's Mansion. Using Void authority and Honkai Energy, he ambushed three former tormentors: a Soul King and two Soul Ancestors. He killed the two Soul Ancestors, but a Titled Douluo prevented him from killing the final soldier. 51 52

When Elder Xuan and Shrek Academy attempted to take him away, Yuhao openly resisted them. Their forceful approach—led by a Titled Douluo against a child with one Soul Ring—left him with a deeply negative impression of Shrek. 53

Driven by revenge, fear of weakness, and his mother's wish that he become strong, Yuhao endured the Ice Herrscher Core's fusion process. He emerged as the Herrscher of Ice and later committed himself to retaining his loyal and righteous nature despite his overwhelming new power. 69 73
