Seeing everyone immersed in the celestial phenomenon, Hongjun spoke with authority, beginning to expound on the Way of Grand Unity.
His voice was not loud, yet it seemed to pierce the soul, reaching straight into the hearts of all.
Great Dao runes swirled through the void, slowly resounding through the Purple Firmament Palace with his Dao tones.
"The Way of Grand Unity is not attained through brute force, but through the state where Law and Primordial Spirit merge."
"You have cultivated to Grand Unity, initially grasping Laws, yet you must know the true meaning of Unity of Law and Self."
"Do not rely on spiritual treasures to channel Laws; instead, engrave Laws into your Primordial Spirit, fuse them into your flesh, making yourself the vessel of Law. Only then can you avoid being swept away by the Tide of Heavenly Dao and stand immortal in the Primordial Wilderness."
"The Heavenly Dao is condensed from Pangu's essence blood and Primordial Spirit, bearing the responsibility of the Great Dao, governing the workings of the Primordial Wilderness."
"Grand Unity Golden Immortals should follow the Dao without being subservient to it, borrowing the Dao's power to comprehend its truth, rather than being trapped within it."
"Otherwise, even with Grand Unity cultivation, you will struggle to glimpse the Gate of Origin. Only by touching upon Law can you find the opportunity for breakthrough."
As the Dao tones fell, the golden lotuses within the Purple Firmament Palace grew even more radiant, each petal reflecting Law runes.
Boundless purple qi streamed like rivers into everyone's brows, washing away impurities in their Primordial Spirits, helping them sort out the chaotic Law forces within.
The reactions within the hall varied.
Haotian sat upright on the left cushion of the high platform, with Space Law light flowing faintly around him.
The three incarnations—Lingxiao, Youming, and Fengyin—flickered behind him like shadows.
Lingxiao assisted him in deducing advanced methods of Space Teleportation, while Youming sorted out the connection between the Soul and Yin Attribute Law.
Fengyin captured information from the Chaos Airflow. As he listened to Hongjun's lecture, the Fragment of the Jade Plate of Creation in his hand grew slightly warm.
The runes within the fragment resonated with the Great Dao runes above the platform.
Deepening his understanding of Unity of Law and Self, his cultivation at Late Golden Immortal of the Origin grew ever more stable.
Jade Pool sat beside Haotian, Ren Water Spiritual Qi forming a faint water screen around her.
She occasionally frowned, and each time, Haotian would transmit his insights to her via Primordial Spirit.
Sharing his comprehension of the Dao tones, he helped her fuse the Ren Water Law with her flesh.
With Haotian's aid, though she was only at Early Golden Immortal of the Origin, she could easily keep pace with Hongjun's lecture, a relieved smile often appearing on her brow.
The Three Pure Ones sat in the front row. Laozi closed his eyes in concentration, purple qi swirling around him, as if he had entered a state of oblivion.
His insights into the Dao tones transformed into streams of air, condensing into tiny Taiji Patterns in his palm.
Venerable Yuanshi frowned slightly, as if deducing the Way of Law and Spiritual Treasure Harmony.
Sect Master Tongtian appeared much more carefree, nodding and clapping his hands from time to time.
He strongly agreed with the concept of unrestrained Law, his gaze toward the chaos outside the hall filled with longing.
Nuwa listened to the lecture while using her Primordial Spirit to assist Fuxi beside her.
Though Fuxi was only at Late Grand Unity, with the help of the Dao tones and Nuwa, his cultivation rose to Peak Grand Unity Golden Immortal, his face brimming with joy.
Jieyin and Zhunti sat upright on their cushions, eyes closed in focus, fingers rapidly forming hand seals.
They engraved key information from the Dao tones into their Primordial Spirits. With the Western Spirit Vein severed, they had to memorize every phrase of Dao teachings to revive the West.
Dijun and Taiyi appeared somewhat strained.
Though they were at Peak Grand Unity, the shackles of the Heavenly Dao after the Dao-Demon War kept them from touching the Threshold of Origin.
During the lecture, Dijun sometimes frowned while taking notes, other times paused to ponder.
The Eastern Emperor Bell in Taiyi's hand trembled occasionally, as if resonating with the Dao tones, yet it could never break through that invisible barrier.
Zhenyuanzi and Hongyun sat side by side, occasionally whispering to share their insights.
Though Hongyun had given up his front-row cushion, he gained much from the Dao tones, showing faint signs of breaking through to Peak Grand Unity.
Kunpeng sat in the back row, his face cold, a chill aura swirling around him.
His understanding of the Dao tones was far inferior to those in front, barely able to memorize key phrases.
Occasionally, he glanced toward Jieyin and Zhunti, his eyes full of resentment. If not for those two, he would still be on the front-row cushion, his insights surely far greater.
As for the lower-cultivation Primordial Unity Golden Immortals in the hall, most scratched their heads in frustration.
They could understand the first half of the Dao tones, but when it came to fusing Law with Primordial Spirit, or the difference between the Great Dao and Heavenly Dao, it was like listening to a celestial book. They could only memorize by rote, hoping for a chance to slowly comprehend later.
Three thousand years passed quietly amid the Dao tones and celestial phenomena.
Just as everyone was immersed in the state of enlightenment, nearly forgetting time itself, a cold Dao tone suddenly rang through the hall: "Law Not Passed to Six Ears!"
As the words fell, a piercing scream came from the chaos outside the hall.
Everyone opened their eyes in shock, only to see a stone monkey with three pairs of ears clutching its head, tumbling through the Chaos Airflow.
Its Dao rhythm was in chaos, clearly having been forcibly interrupted in enlightenment, its Primordial Spirit severely injured.
"So it's a Primordial Mutant trying to eavesdrop," someone muttered, disdain in their eyes.
"We braved countless hardships through chaos to reach the Purple Firmament Palace, and it wanted to reap without sowing. The Dao Ancestor's punishment was well-deserved!"
"Exactly! If anyone could eavesdrop, our coming here would be a joke."
Another Innate Deity chimed in, showing no sympathy whatsoever.
Haotian sat upright on his Cushion, taking in everyone's reactions, and gently shook his head.
He knew his Master wasn't deliberately targeting this Six-Eared Macaque, but using the matter to set a precedent.
Dao arts must be obtained through fate and perseverance; eavesdropping inherently undermined fairness.
If left unchecked, the Primordial Wilderness would surely descend into chaos in the days to come.
Yet the crowd clearly misunderstood the Master's intent, thinking it forbade teaching Dao arts to the Six-Eared Macaque, rather than forbidding eavesdropping on Dao arts.
He didn't point this out—after all, explaining now would do no good and might invite further questions, exposing his own anomaly of knowing too much of cause and effect.
Just as the crowd buzzed with discussion, Hongjun spoke again, his voice utterly indifferent: "This sermon has lasted three thousand years. The next sermon will be held ten thousand years from now."
"What? It's over already?" Someone showed regret, blurting out, "This disciple wishes to hear more Dao arts from the Master..."
Hongjun paid no heed to their lamentations and continued.
"Though the sermon ends, there is one matter I must instruct you in, concerning the order of the Primordial Wilderness. Listen well."
The crowd immediately reined in their emotions and focused their attention.
Anything the Dao Ancestor specifically commanded was bound to be no small matter.
"I have spread Dao throughout the Primordial Wilderness, intending to guide the cultivation of all Sentient Beings, yet there must also be those who restrain the loose immortals of the Primordial Wilderness."
Hongjun's gaze swept across the hall as he spoke slowly.
"The Heavenly Dao's operation requires the harmony of Yin and Yang. It is my will to follow the Heavenly Dao and establish a Head of Male Immortals and a Head of Female Immortals, to govern all loose immortals in the Primordial Wilderness, regulate the order of cultivation, and prevent chaos among them."
At these words, many loose cultivators' expressions shifted drastically. They had always roamed free and unwilling to be bound by others.
Hearing now that Immortal Heads were to be established, their hearts were naturally resistant.
Yet, constrained by Hongjun's authority, they dared not show the slightest discontent.
Some Innate Deities, however, had anticipation flickering in their eyes.
If they could become an Immortal Head, they would not only gain the recognition of the Heavenly Dao but also command all immortals, greatly elevating their status and power.
Hongjun gave them little time to ponder, his gaze settling on a man and a woman in the hall—none other than East King Duke and West Queen Mother.
The two had once inherited the legacy of Old Ancestor Yin Yang, who had ties to the Old Ancestor Yin Yang who fell in the War of Dao and Demons.
Moreover, their very essence was formed from Innate Yang Qi and Innate Yin Qi, making them most suited to harmonize Yin and Yang and govern the Immortal Race.
Thus, after sweeping his eyes over them, Hongjun spoke.
"East King Duke, West Queen Mother. You two were born from the primal Yin and Yang Qi, with steady and composed natures. You may serve as Head of Male Immortals and Head of Female Immortals, governing the loose immortals of the Primordial Wilderness."
East King Duke was stunned at first, then wild joy surged within him.
He strode quickly out of the crowd, bowed deeply, and said with a tremor of excitement in his voice.
"This disciple, East King Duke, thanks the Dao Ancestor for his great favor! I will surely live up to the Master's trust and the Heavenly Dao's expectations!"
West Queen Mother, by contrast, appeared far more composed. She rose slowly, straightened her robes, and then bowed.
"This disciple, West Queen Mother, thanks the Dao Ancestor for this bestowal. I will do my utmost to maintain order among the Immortal Race of the Primordial Wilderness and live up to the Dao Ancestor's trust."
