"A matter of choice?"

Seraphine seemed to understand, yet not quite.

Seeing her expression, Camille nodded lightly and added,

"Jinx and Powder were fundamentally a matter of choice. A good older sister either had the sense to disappear forever, or stood by her little sister's side forever. She had always been making choices for her sister, yet never chose anything for herself."

Seraphine looked enlightened, but another question arose. "Wasn't choosing Powder also a choice?"

"It was indeed a choice, but one as ridiculous as wanting to take a regret pill."

Camille raised a brow slightly.

"After growing up, the older sister wanted her younger sister to remain as ignorant as she had been as a child, yet never considered why she had become this way, even simply attributing it to some dubious reason. That truly was not how an older sister should behave. Stevan has been a constant worry since childhood, even after all these decades, but I have never considered turning him back into the innocent child he once was."

"As the eldest daughter, having a loving heart alone is far from enough. One must possess a decisive mind. She will always be the guide for her younger siblings." Camille's indifferent voice brooked no doubt.

After hearing her out, Seraphine looked enlightened, and she came to a complete judgment on the matter.

The reason little sister Powder had become Jinx was not merely that one accident. That had only been the fuse. Perhaps the seeds had already been planted through the accumulated neglect over time.

But she did not think the blame should simply be placed on Vi or Jinx. Not everyone was Lady Camille, born with such a formidable mind.

It was Vi's first time being an older sister, and Jinx's first time being a younger sister.
