"What's next?"

"That's right. I said before the war that the human kingdoms in the north would never join the Alliance until they experienced an Orc attack firsthand." Hu Feng paused, and everyone nodded. They knew the nature of those kings well enough.

"So the next step is to deliberately leave an opening. We'll hit them hard from behind and, no matter what, force part of the Orc forces north. We're fighting and dying here while the northern kingdoms sit back and watch? They don't get to have it that easy."

Lothar rubbed his hands together with a wicked grin. "Rest assured, Divine Venerable. Leave it to me. Aside from Kul Tiras, none of the northern kingdoms believe the Orcs are a threat. This time, we'll let the Orcs through from the Burning Steppes and give them a taste of it."

King Llane frowned. "Lothar, make sure you keep it under control. Don't let too many through at first. Our goal is to ease our own pressure and wake the other kingdoms up, not destroy them."

"Don't worry, Llane. I know what I'm doing."

Merith Winterwind quickly proved his worth after returning. He headed to the Redridge Mountains front to take command, assuming control of the Alliance Mage Corps and leading them in a renewed counterattack. Merith excelled at Mental Link, and he once again used the tactics from Arathor's war against the trolls on the Orc warlocks and Ogre Mages. After the minds of several hundred human and elven mages were linked to Merith, they gave the Horde a brutal beating.

Overwhelming firestorms swept across the Horde's positions like tornadoes. With Hu Feng's help, the Pit Lord imprisoned within Merith had become little more than a living battery. It could no longer influence Merith or sense anything, reduced miserably
