Pirate World.
"Finally, I'm back!"
Stretching lazily, Yota took in the atmosphere of the Pirate World. It did not feel as solemn as the Naruto World, but beneath its freedom lay an impression of chaos and disorder.
Yota did not know how he had sensed that. Perhaps it was because he had traveled between two worlds that he had developed such a feeling.
"There's only one day left of the seven days. I might as well take a look around this island!" Yota pondered briefly, then remembered that he had not explored the island yet. He decided to wander around and buy a few things.
After completing the transaction in the Naruto World, Yota had spent the remaining three days practicing the Ninjutsu he had acquired.
Thanks to his physique from the Pirate World, his Chakra reserves had skyrocketed. Even among Jonin, he would be considered one of those with abundant Chakra. Naturally, he no longer had to be so stingy while practicing Ninjutsu, and he quickly mastered two simple Water Release Ninjutsu.
He had not forgotten about the Spade Pirates, who were still under threat from a Vice Admiral. Thus, the first techniques he trained were Water Release Ninjutsu, meant to deal with Devil Fruit users.
However, after he had only wandered through the market for half an hour, he spotted flames and black smoke rising from the docks.
"Well, looks like vacation time is over. Has the fight begun already?"
Seeing the blazing fire at the docks, along with fireballs as bright as the sun, Yota immediately understood that Ace had started fighting someone.
And for Ace to use an ability like the Flame-Flame Fruit, his opponent was clearly no ordinary foe. Anyone could guess that a Vice Admiral's warship must have arrived.
Yota's guess was entirely correct—and this time, more than one Vice Admiral had come! By the time he reached the docks, he saw Ace getting beaten up!
Damn, was there a scene like this in the original story?
When Yota arrived, he saw Ace getting double-teamed by two Vice Admirals! He did not recognize one of them, but he had seen the other in the original story. He should have been the Vice Admiral nicknamed Dalmatian, though Yota could not remember his actual name.
He recognized him because that dog head was simply too conspicuous. When Yota had first read the original story, he had even thought the man was wearing a dog-head hat!
Later, he learned that the guy was a Dog-Dog Fruit, Dalmatian Fruit user. For someone with that kind of Devil Fruit ability to become a Vice Admiral, he truly proved that there were no useless Devil Fruits, only useless Devil Fruit users.
At that moment, both Vice Admirals had their fists coated in Armament Haki, battering Ace back step by step. Having suddenly encountered experts in Armament Haki, Ace was clearly having a hard time adapting.
Fortunately, Yota had already explained Haki to Ace, and Ace had even begun learning Observation Haki. Otherwise, if he had foolishly believed that his Elementalization made him immune to attacks, Ace would have been knocked flat long ago.
As for Ace's other crewmates, they could not even get close to the battlefield. Going over there would only make them a burden.
Yet Yota could vaguely sense that Ace was gradually transforming during this battle. He was also dealing with the two Vice Admirals' attacks with increasing agility.
"Is this guy about to awaken Observation Haki?" Yota vaguely saw something. He had told Ace how to train Observation Haki long ago, but in less than a month, Ace had spent his time sailing and working part-time as a navigator, without truly focusing on training. So he had yet to awaken Observation Haki.
But this battle had clearly catalyzed Ace's growth. Haki was easiest to improve and awaken in actual combat, and with Ace's talent, Yota was not surprised in the slightest that he might awaken Observation Haki during this fight.
As Yota was thinking, Ace took a punch and flew through the air, landing right beside him with a whoosh.
"Need help, Captain?" Yota tilted his head and asked.
"Ugh... no. How could I let the ship's doctor go onto the battlefield?" Ace groaned as he climbed back to his feet.
Yota smiled. He finally understood why Ace's Spade Pirates were so weak. It seemed that having a captain who was too dependable was not necessarily a good thing; the crew had been protected so thoroughly by their captain that they had little fighting ability left.
Of course, thinking about it carefully, if the Spade Pirates' crew had been used the way the Straw Hat Pirates' crew was used, they would probably have died off long ago.
For an ordinary person to end up with a captain like Luffy would truly be like hanging oneself just to die sooner. Along the way, not to mention the combatants, even non-combat roles like navigators and ship doctors had escaped death countless times.
But Yota was not an ordinary Spade Pirates crewman. Just because Ace told him not to fight, did that mean he would actually stay out of it? How could that be possible?
If he did not gain more combat experience while Ace could still handle things, was he supposed to wait until they reached the New World and directly face a Four Emperors Crew?
He did not want to end up as nothing more than Ace's sidekick!
"Forget it, Captain. I don't think you can take on two Vice Admirals by yourself!" Yota shook his head without hesitation and stood beside him.
If they were in the New World, Ace—having awakened both types of Haki—would definitely be able to defeat two Vice Admirals. Unless they sent an Admiral candidate or his grandfather.
Right now, even if Ace unleashed his potential, he could probably defeat only one Vice Admiral at most.
Yota did not know whether some butterfly effect caused by him had made two Vice Admirals directly intercept the Spade Pirates, but there was nothing more to say. Since he had joined the Spade Pirates, then he would fight!
Yota looked at Dalmatian. "That spotted dog is mine! Ace, you handle the other one!"
"Wait, I said I didn't need—"
"It's decided. I'm going!" Yota did not pay any more attention to Ace. With a flick of his hand, he threw two kunai at Dalmatian.
"A member of the Spade Pirates? A new face I haven't seen before... Fire Fist Ace's newly recruited crewmate?" Dalmatian extended a hand coated in Armament Haki and effortlessly crushed the two kunai.
"You think someone with your strength can join a battle between us...? Let me teach you a lesson!"
The moment he finished speaking, his figure vanished.
"So fast!" Yota's pupils contracted. Only with the dual lock of Observation Haki and his modified Hawkeye could he barely make out the man's attack trajectory. He immediately threw out a punch of his own.
Just as Yota's fist was about to collide with the Armament Haki-coated fist of his opponent, several bone spikes glinting with metallic light suddenly burst from the gaps between his fingers. An eerie blue Chakra glow flickered across the metallic bone spikes.
