The eighth wave of monsters was incredibly powerful, even stronger than the previous Medusas. Perhaps knowing they could no longer hold back this wave, many guild players chose to give up. They teleported from towns such as Luoshui Town to second-tier cities, placing even greater pressure on the players defending the towns.
Most of the other towns were already on the verge of collapse, but Luoshui Town was in much better shape. Misty Pavilion had dispatched thirty percent of its forces there, and more importantly, super experts such as Ye Luo, Breaking Waves Riding Wind, and Zhi Yue were present. On top of that, the Lord of Luoshui Town had finally deployed Siege Weaponry, so holding back this wave of monsters would not be much of a problem.
Knowing that defending against the eighth wave had already pushed them to their limits and that they would have virtually no chance against the ninth wave, Breaking Waves Riding Wind and the others gave the order: after all the eighth-wave monsters were killed, the Heavy Armor Cavalry would teleport to Haoyue City to help, while the ranged classes would continue attacking.
They arranged things this way because heavy armor classes bore the brunt of the monsters' attacks in front of the city walls, while mages, archers, and similar classes could stand atop the walls and attack from range. With the walls' durability, they could hold on for some time, and those classes would be safe until then.
Now that Luoshui Town had also deployed its Siege Weaponry, those weapons could suppress the monsters as well, allowing the city walls to last even longer.
Although the Hell Three-Headed Dogs were level 280 Nightmare Grade monsters, more than ten levels higher than Ye Luo and his group, much of their equipment ignored level suppression.
