A Life-or-Death Wager
Xiao Yifeng almost looked as though he were begging.
"I... I really need to see him. I know he's in there. Please tell him. Give me a little time."
"Once I'm done talking, I'll leave!"
Only then did An Qing'er give Xiao Yifeng a careful look.
Back when she had seen Xiao Yifeng, although he had mostly been in a crippled state,
the vitality about him had seemed inexhaustible.
But now, Xiao Yifeng's eyes were dim and lifeless, like two pools of dried-up stagnant water.
There was not a trace of life in them. The light that had once flickered there had long been drained away by the flame of life that was about to go out.
His life had reached its end.
"My husband doesn't particularly want to see you. Leave. I won't kill you. Your life—my husband said he wanted it."
An Qing'er still refused to pay him any heed.
Xiao Yifeng opened his mouth, then let out a sigh.
Yet a figure suddenly leaped over from the other side.
It crossed two ships in succession before landing on the deck.
How could he possibly mistake that figure?
It was Shen Wuxiao.
"Young Master Xiao, long time no see!" Shen Wuxiao sneered as he walked over step by step.
Xiao Yifeng smiled faintly. "Young Master Shen has certainly changed in countless ways. You've tricked me again."
"Hm? Haven't I tricked you enough already? You should be used to it by now!" Shen Wuxiao spread his hands, utterly unconcerned.
"Yes, I'm used to it!" Xiao Yifeng said with a smile, shaking his head.
An Qing'er could tell that he was about to die, and naturally Shen Wuxiao could tell as well.
He asked directly, "Tell me. What do you want to do?"
Xiao Yifeng looked around.
