"Wait."
Senya suddenly cut off Obito's heartfelt speech and could not help but start criticizing him.
"If I remember correctly, the Land of Grass has a Bloodline Limit ninjutsu called Dragon Life Reincarnation. It can resurrect another person at the cost of one's own life."
"With your Mangekyō Sharingan Genjutsu, wouldn't controlling someone to resurrect Rin be effortless?"
"Instead of doing all this and thinking about reshaping the ninja world, why not just resurrect Rin and live in seclusion with her somewhere uninhabited?"
"Could it be that you only liked Rin one-sidedly? Kakashi, I'm not sure about this. You two were on the same team before, so you should know, right?"
All right, now the pressure was on Kakashi.
Kakashi had finally managed to regain his momentum, only for Senya's question to leave him at a loss.
He lowered his head, avoiding Senya's question.
"Um, I'm not really sure."
"Rin was always gentle and kind. She gave people the same feeling as Minato-sensei."
"I don't know either... whether Rin liked Obito."
Kakashi spoke somewhat haltingly and even glanced at Obito.
In truth, how could Kakashi, who had become a jonin at twelve, possibly fail to see Rin's feelings? Rin had always liked him! But back then, Kakashi had no mind for romance. His head was filled with an obsession with missions.
It was only after he believed Obito had died that he emerged from that old fixation and began facing Rin's feelings. Their relationship gradually grew closer, but unfortunately, Rin had chosen that method of suicide for the sake of the village and died by Kakashi's hand.
It made Kakashi feel the agony of losing both a teammate and a lover. For a long time afterward, he remained trapped in grief. Whenever he looked at his right hand, he always felt as though it was stained with blood that could never be washed away.
But Senya had actually asked that now. The moment Obito said those words, Kakashi knew Obito definitely did not know about the relationship Rin and he had developed after Obito went missing. If he said it now, would Obito not go completely berserk...
As Senya listened to Kakashi, he began griping inwardly as well.
Well, well, Kakashi. You repressed pervert who spent all day reading dirty books to pass the time—how could you possibly not know Rin liked you? You were just saying nice things to fool this blockhead Obito.
It seemed Kakashi would be no help at all in making Obito lose it. He would have to rely on his own excellent eloquence.
Just as Senya was about to launch into his speech, Obito spoke first.
"Senya Uchiha! How much do you even know about Rin? What right do you have to comment on my feelings for her?"
"Kakashi, you always used to look coldly upon your comrades. I never expected you to have changed so much."
"I'm not like you! I could always clearly feel Rin watching me! Whenever I was late, you never believed my reasons and thought I was lying. Only Rin didn't!"
"Rin believed me every time. She looked at me with that gentle smile. Are you going to deny those facts, Kakashi?!"
"Rin was a gentle girl. Whenever I was feeling down, she comforted me. If she didn't like me, why would she care so much about my feelings?!"
"The person Rin liked had to be me!"
Obito spoke these beliefs, which he considered correct, to Kakashi, wanting to prove that Rin must have liked him.
Seeing Obito in such a crazed state, Kakashi found it difficult to refute him. But if he did not refute him, would that not render Rin's feelings for him worthless? Would he, the one Rin loved, become the third wheel?
After hearing Obito out, Senya was certain now. What classic, textbook lines—filled with that bizarre confidence of she definitely likes me.
Now it was time for Senya, his life mentor, to give him a proper spiritual cleansing!
Senya rolled up his sleeves, preparing to go on a "killing spree"!
"Obito, I'm sorry, but the person Rin liked should have been me..."
The words were about to leave his mouth, but his voice caught in his throat.
Kakashi's shocking declaration caught Senya completely off guard. His eyes widened, and his jaw nearly dropped as he stared at Kakashi.
"Eyes wide as copper bells." That phrase perfectly described Senya's current expression.
"What did you say, Kakashi?! Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
Obito immediately shouted the thoughts in his heart, vehemently denying it.
Senya silently rolled his sleeves back down and returned to lean against the wall. Not bad. It seemed Kakashi had truly inherited his teachings. It had not been long, yet he had already learned psychological warfare.
Senya thought so because he had no idea that after Obito vanished, Kakashi and Rin had actually gotten together. After all, the original story had never explained it.
As a result, Senya had no idea this was merely two men fighting over a woman. Rin had been Kakashi's girlfriend, after all. Though she was already dead, Kakashi naturally found it difficult to accept Obito talking like that and had to refute him.
Kakashi's expression gradually turned solemn. He raised his head and looked at Obito, deciding it would be best to tell him everything. After all, he did not want to betray Rin's feelings either.
"Obito, I take back what I said earlier. I'm sorry for lying to you."
Obito, standing opposite Kakashi, looked visibly relieved upon hearing this.
"Hahaha, I never thought that even you, Kakashi, had learned to lie. It's useless! No one knows Rin's feelings for me better than I do!"
Kakashi shook his head. His expression was heavy, his brows slightly furrowed, and he looked apologetic.
"Not that, Obito. Actually, from the very beginning, I could feel Rin's feelings for me. Rin liked me."
"But back then, I couldn't face Rin's feelings and kept avoiding them."
"After the Kannabi Bridge mission, you changed me. You told me to protect Rin, and only then did I begin to face her feelings."
"Actually, after that, Rin and I gradually got together. It's just... I'm sorry. I still failed to protect Rin. I..."
"Shut up!!!"
Chakra erupted wildly from Obito's body. The clothes on his right shoulder were torn apart by branches that burst forth from his shoulder.
"Kakashi, it would have been one thing if you lied before, but now you've become someone who does nothing but lie. You disgust me."
His gaze was cold and vicious, and murderous intent surged from Obito without restraint.
Obito stared fixedly at Kakashi. Kakashi now felt like a stranger to him. He had originally wanted to tell Kakashi his true feelings and even invite him to join his plan, but the Kakashi before him did not deserve it!
Fury had already clouded Obito's reason, but with Senya here, Obito stood no chance. He could only look for an opportunity to leave.
After telling him everything, Kakashi did not continue explaining in the face of Obito's outburst. He knew that no matter how much he tried to persuade this blockhead, Obito would not listen. He had always been this kind of person. It was enough for him to know the truth.
By the wall, Senya watched Kakashi's performance with considerable satisfaction. All right, it was finally his turn to take the stage!
Though it had been quite an entertaining show, Senya had built up plenty of resentment after being interrupted twice. After all, what he hated most was being interrupted while speaking.
Poor Obito Uchiha. He would just have to bear the brunt of Senya's dissatisfaction.
"So that's how it was, Kakashi. I was wondering how Rin could possibly like Obito. I thought it was strange, but now that you've explained it, it all makes perfect sense."
"After all, in terms of strength, you were far stronger than Obito back then. And in terms of looks, you were much better-looking than someone who wore goggles all day."
Senya turned his head and looked at Obito, who was on the verge of going berserk.
"Obito, Kakashi was better than you in every way back then. He looked cool too. Wasn't it perfectly normal for Rin to like him?"
"As their teammate, you should have blessed their relationship. Why are you acting like such a simp, stubbornly clinging to your own feelings for Rin and thinking only of yourself?"
"Oh~ I get it. You didn't dare resurrect Rin because you were afraid she would get back together with Kakashi after being revived. You couldn't accept that reality, could you, Obito?"
The corner of Senya's mouth curved upward. He looked like a fox spirit toying with people's hearts as he played with his victim.
"Obito Uchiha has lost it. Successfully replicated 'Hashirama Cells.' Ocular power increased by 10%."
