He had so many plans that Heti and Rebecca sometimes felt they were completely unnecessary, yet whenever the opportunity arose, he continued adding "weights" in the direction of the wasteland.
The first reason was the powerful impression left in his memories by Gawain Cecil of seven hundred years ago, which kept Gawain at the highest level of vigilance against the endless wandering monsters in the wasteland at all times. The second was Gawain's own judgment—ever since learning that the ancients of this world had sealed a lethal catastrophe inside a wasteland with a wall, he had felt that the whole arrangement was unreliable. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and raised his head from the documents on his desk, his gaze slowly sweeping across the vast room. Many high-ranking officials from the Administrative Hall were seated there, including Heti, along with numerous Magic Net Terminals projecting Holographic Images. Figures, some solid and some virtual, had gathered here. Some awaited updated reports, while others waited for the next orders.
